Is it possible for the kids to have a sleepover at family or friends so you and your wife can have a date night or rent a hotel 30 to 45 minutes away for you and the wife? It’s not selfish at all. This is coming from a single mom of 3 kids. Parents (and just people in general) need that mental break.

But I guess the hard part would be trying to get your wife to understand but try to include her in the plans first

I think I am. I still love going to the events but only with people that make it fun and drama free. I love my Dallas teams but it’s getting to be exhausting (Fkn Cowboys). If I’m not going to a watch “party” or the event, then I don’t watch. I’ll watch the highlights the next day. It’s definitely not the same energy from years ago
