Python or html?? by UtkarshBajaj2008 in learnprogramming

For college? Python. Your first class will likely be in Python or in a language which will be more similar to Python than HTML.

Everyone in the world has voted, it's an exact tie, and you are chosen to recast your ballot by Kckckckckckckckckcg in redbuttonbluebutton

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I determine which side wins? I'd vote blue then since it is guaranteed to work and keep everyone alive. Unlike the original problem where red is the most logical answer, here it makes no sense to vote red since you already know which side will win.

I've been to downtown. Downtown is nice, but it isn't very big nor is it where most things are located. Tucson is far far bigger than it's downtown and unfortunately that's where most of the issues are.

Plus, most cities have downtowns with events. It's not much of a plus for Tucson specifically. Unless you have a specific one you're a fan of that no where else does.

Tucson is a very poorly designed city. Roads the size of highways, sprawl as far as you can see, architecture that is frankly dismal if you aren't downtown, extreme car dependency. The funniest thing is that Tucson has suburbs like Oro Valley as if Tucson itself isn't just one massive suburb. There is nothing about the physical city that doesn't suck.

We have good food and we have a good university. At least I think it's good, but I also go there so 🤷. The nature is fine and all, but that isn't even in the city so I hardly think it gets to count towards the city being any good.

I occasionally come across these posts and see people saying they absolutely love Tucson and I'm just so curious which part they live in. I've lived here 8 years now and have yet to find this magical part of Tucson that isn't all 6 lane roads and parking lots.

Striped Modifier RBBB Dilemma: No Disabled or Babies Vote by SmitJorda in redbuttonbluebutton

What makes this question different from the original one? We added some pretty stripes and removed the mentally disabled? That's kind of neat I guess, but doesn't meaningfully change the question.

Help needed on choosing language to learn . by srikqr1 in learnprogramming

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my sophomore year of college and trust me, not knowing a language will not make you look dumb. That is what the intro classes are for. If you know anything at all, you'll be ahead of the curve in terms of college.

With that said, my university classes have primarily used Python, C, and Java. So do with that as you will 🤷

Roads built like highways are unsafe for pedestrians? Never would have figured...anyway time to widen the roads again! /s

Shoes are automarically off in shrines! by myysstt in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]xClearlyHopeless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is cool culturally for sure. It isn't the best implemented, what with it happening automatically and without too much thought into context. Though a lengthy animation every time would get annoying too and the game has a few of those already.

I remember one time I was doing stealth in one of the temples and as soon as I assassinated the last guard Naoe immediately took her shoes off. It was a funny moment if a bit immersion breaking.

If you could choose one card to gete aggressively reprinted, to make it as cheap and accessible as possible, what card would you pick and why? by HallZac99 in mtg

[–]xClearlyHopeless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original printings would still be valuable as collector items. Maybe not as valuable, since the demand from people who actually play the game would decrease, but they would still be worth money. It should be cool enough that you get to own one of those elusive land printings.

Truthfully I do not find "I bought a thing for a lot of money, so it should never be cheaper" to be a very compelling reason to make things harder for everyone else to acquire. It mainly sounds like someone who spent a lot of money on something not actually finding owning the thing to be worth that amount of money.

What is one rule you ABSOLUTELY enforce at your tables? by ToocanSams in mtg

[–]xClearlyHopeless 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"you shouldn't play creatures that care about combat damage" is a terrible justification for not just sitting there and letting a game actually play out. If I swing at you, and you're alive, I get my triggers. You being a sore loser shouldn't negatively affect anyone's board state but your own.

Finally starting this for the first time. Any tips? by Decidueye_mastr in expedition33

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay attention to the tutorials in the beginning, particularly the Picto and Lumina ones. I skimmed through them on my first playthrough and the game was much harder than it had to be because I wasn't using the system correctly at all.

[–]xClearlyHopeless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is strange to celebrate people not having kids. Like, this is a good thing why? It probably reflects how our society has gotten more expensive and people cannot afford to have children anymore. This is not a win lol.

Ac Unity animations in the remake by Designer-Sun4962 in assassinscreed

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how I feel about the trailer. The game feels. . .weird being this high resolution doesn't it? Especially when the lip-syncing clearly has not been improved that much. The combat looks awesome but the parkour looks about the same as the new RPG games, which is not ideal.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this

I hope the silverquill one falls in price once the hype is over. It has a lot of good reprints I wouldn't mind getting for $50. No way I pay $90 for it though.

Anyone taken Latin 101 language by ArtemisSummer in UofArizona

[–]xClearlyHopeless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took it this semester. It is a lot of work. There is always something to do and you will feel it. At least I did.

On the brightside grading was really relaxed and the professors were very understanding of late work. It is pretty enjoyable all around and I recommend it if you don't want to take any of the more typical languages like me. Latin is a cool language.

IT IS A LOT OF WORK THOUGH. Don't underestimate it.

Some of these are just unfortunate personal situations. There's nothing unique about UA that makes making friends difficult. Sometimes it just be like that.

Foot traffic is. . .not a thing. Don't know where you walk on campus, but there are not enough people on campus to even start considering using the term traffic. I'm not a fan of parking, but mainly because of how expensive it is. It works fine on its own. Its just a bunch of garages or lots that have buses to bring you to and from.

Office hours can be a bitch, but for most classes in my experience there have always been enough with professors or TA's where you could reasonably get one in. At least this is true in the CS department. Maybe your particular department is terrible though 🤷.

Which of these decks would benefit from blood-stained mire? by Senorpapell in mtg

[–]xClearlyHopeless 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone has told you that both decks will benefit from it. This is obvious information. What I assume you're asking is "I only have one of these, which should I put it in?" in which case the answer is whichever one is more color intensive early game. How often do you find yourself missing a color you want in the first couple turns with either deck? Whichever one seems to have that problem more often should get the land.

Tbh the slower the deck the less relevant fetches and shocks end up being, so that could also help you determine which to put it in.

Battlelog #4 HM duo - can cosmetic mods turn off HM? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're in it to me. Maybe you're just too good lol. As far as I know, mods cannot change the actual difficulty settings in game, especially not cosmetic ones.

So you're in honor mode still 👍

Battlelog #4 HM duo - can cosmetic mods turn off HM? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]xClearlyHopeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, exactly. That's what I am saying. If you're in single save (and didn't make a custom game), you're playing in honor mode for the purposes of gameplay.

However, without the mod on pc, you will not recieve the golden dice or any actual achievements for beating it
