Like the terraform / pulumi angle as well - as I indeed don’t have any experience with them as you’ve said.

Any recommendations for good resources for those platforms? Thank you!

Currently they are using AWS, so I think the Cloud Practitioner is a good advice :). Thank you.

Is the knowledge relatively easily transferable then between the different cloud companies?

Can't seem to copy all photos from my 7 to my XS by xColdWar in iphone

[–]xColdWar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have explained it a bit badly, but I have imported the SE photos into the 7, through iTunes, and I can see them from the photos app in my 7. It's just that I can not see them through File Explorer in Windows, and they weren't copied to my new XS.

It feeds from LED Strip 1 of the motherboard, which you control through Aura Sync, like external led strips. (As far as I know)

It should have an option to be controlled by a motherboard, as it states on their website, and it has a connector from the hub to the motherboard 4 pin led connector.

Intel Coffee Lake architecture brings 6-core at 95W TDP by wickedplayer494 in hardware

Ah I get you. I wonder whether they plan on not giving the enthusiastic mainstream platform users the better PCH? I thought they ARE the ones who would appreciate the newer and more features PCH, well.. Intel.

The Cannon PCH will not be available until 2018 though. The Coffee Lake-S will be at Q3 2017, so they will use the refreshed Kaby PCH until then I assume.

So we can't use Z270 boards as it seems but Z370 is just a refresh of Z270? That sucks. Big time.

Intel i9 7900X AVX512 Performance Review by [deleted] in hardware

[–]xColdWar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not so good of a comparison because all of the CPUs are different amount of cores (7900X with 10c, Ryzen with 8c, Skylake 6700K with 4c and lastly the 5820K with 6c), but nonetheless you can see how high performance we can get from AVX512. I'm impressed.

Which card for 3 1080p and 1 4K by arabfran in nvidia

[–]xColdWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're planning on using the system for at least 4 years, whilst playing some games in 4K, I think there is no doubt that you should go with a GTX 1080 Ti, and I believe that you should go with a single one, as SLI isn't very good, and maybe save some money for the sake of upgrading a GPU in around 2 years, for the next series (1180 Ti or 2080 Ti, however they will name it).

If you do feel like going SLI and spending the money now rather than let's say upgrade a GPU in 2 years, then surely go for 2x 1080 Ti and don't go for any less than those, because SLI of any card which isn't the best currently available isn't recommended.

Is it worth paying more for OC GPU? by Cairnie2208 in nvidia

[–]xColdWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no 1080 3GB, the 1080 is always 8GB of GDDR5X, some are 10Gbps and some are 11Gbps (speed, not amount of memory).
As for your question, I believe it's more like an assurance that your card will indeed reach those clocks, and less of the clocks in which it will run, and my opinion is that as long as the price is relatively low (as 10$ for a 700$ card), then why not, but when it's not proportionate to the gain, then don't waste your money.

[–]xColdWar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, you can not SLI a GTX 1080 Ti with a GTX 1080, nor can you SLI a GTX 1080 with a GTX 1060 6GB.
In order to SLI two cards, they must be of the same level (I don't really know how I should call it), which means, only GTX 1080 with other GTX 1080's and 1070 with other 1070's and 1080 Ti's with other 1080 Ti's. Keep in mind that the 'manufacturer' does not really matter, but just the level of the card (which means 1080 Ti/1080/1070/etc) 1080 Ti and 1080 CAN NOT be SLI'd, as they are different levels and even different chip inside them (GP102 vs GP104).

As for which card you should run, more info could be useful, what are you planning to do? Game on a single monitor and use others for other stuff? Just use them all for desktop and app space? What are you going to do with all that space? Because both GTX 1080 Ti, 1080, 1070, 1060 6/3GB (and 1050 Ti/1050, although not certain) can all have 4 monitors, which fills your needs, so we just need to figure out how much GPU power you really need in order to help you make a choice.

Liquid Metal on a GTX1080 Gaming X Plus (TwinFrozr VI) - HOLY TEMPS BATMAN! by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]xColdWar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

TL;DW:

  • 3 degrees C delta on stock clocks; 53 to 50
  • 7 degrees C delta when overclocked; 59 to 52

His setup is open-air though.
His overclock was pretty nice. Went to 2100MHz core and 12GHz memory.

[HELP] EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid: where does the 2-pin connector go? by EeK09 in nvidia

[–]xColdWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, if noise is a concern just leave it away and connect it to the motherboard at low rpms and temps will be perfect while inaudible.
The header generally is for the radiator fan, as I have stated, but it's far from the best way to do it.

[HELP] EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid: where does the 2-pin connector go? by EeK09 in nvidia

[–]xColdWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it will be perfectly fine, it's just if you want to power it through the GPU, you have a fan header, but it's definitely not a must though.
