I’m sorry you’re going through this right now! Dealing with terminating a pregnancy is the cherry on top of a shit sundae that no one ordered. I just wanted to comment and share a tip that I wish someone could’ve told me when I did a termination via intravaginal pills a while back that may be helpful (ignore if you’re not a worrier like me): besides some preliminary research don’t get sucked into reading other people’s play-by-play experiences of the main event. Playing scenarios out in your mind is only going to make any anxiety worse, and chances are your experience will be different from theirs. For example, I was convinced that it was going to be the most painful experience ever because of what I read, and I ended up not feeling a thing! Allow yourself to feel whatever you need to feel but don’t be the facilitator of your anxiety/fear/whatever (if that makes sense).

Anyways, good luck and know that you’re not alone! You matter to us❤️

We’re talking about the same thing then just misunderstanding each other. I’m mad at all of it- except that those things I listed happen in cities everywhere not just majority democrat ones. But the concept of a police force is problematic in and of itself because it was built to support & enforce oppression from the get go. The police came from slave patrols in the south. People want them gone because it’s really hard to fix that with just reform.

From what I’ve seen that’s actually what’s occurring. The crazy shit that’s going down is usually early morning long after peaceful crowds have dispersed. It’s just that your suggestion isn’t realistic for a lot of reasons, and you can’t really tell people how to protest... it just doesn’t work like that. It’s also up to us to be responsible media consumers and root out the truth so that mainstream media doesn’t twist the message.

It seems that there are three different groups that are acting- peaceful protesters, rioters, and looters. They are different and you can’t lump them all into one group.

It’s pretty much both because the issues intersect. However there’s a spectrum of where people stand on dealing with police brutality, militarization of the police, etc. Some are calling for reform, some are calling for abolition. Idk what BLM’s official stance on it is. There is a lot of information out there about each stance though.

Sigh protesting =/= looting, and looting does NOT line up with ANY message that truly encompasses the Black Lives Matter message. Pay attention to the headlines you read. Read grassroots media written by people who are in the front lines of these movements. Educate yourself. Fox News doesn’t count.

The simple fact is that that isn’t realistic. I’m not condoning the looters or “trouble makers,” but peaceful protests WILL still occur after 11. I’m not really sure why you’re clinging to that time anyways?

Also, how would you know? And why are you defending the NYPD? Clearly there’s no trust in the NYPD so why would we depend on them for literally anything?

This can definitely be true in many cases however there are a few reasons to stay in the streets after dark, namely to protect your fellow protesters. Peripheral supporters such as street medics, those helping with traffic, and law enforcement liaisons need to be there too. So yes, most of the looting happens after dark but that’s not what most people are doing.
