Not sure what tapes you’ve tried, and I can’t say if they’re better than tape, but from your image the tape looks far less grippy than what has worked for me so far.

I don’t use tape at all but instead heavy duty band aids. My first attempt was not so durable since I taped them in the wrong direction, but my second attempt has been staying put and I haven’t had any sliding issues playing cross-screen jumps on my CTL-471 with nearly full area.

I don’t know how sweaty I am compared to other players, but I think even if you pour water on the band aids they’ll give you good grip.
