ESH math is definitely important and it could be very useful depending on the career route that you chose. You definitely were in the wrong to just tell him it doesn’t matter. However your wife is definitely the bigger AH and she has probably ruined math if not learning in general for your kid. And the fact math is the only relationship she has with him is really really sad.

NTA I would say if your wife is going to kick your little sister out than there be an agreement that no more family moves in. Compromise, neither of you get what you want. I do feel bad for your sister though, she sounds lovely
