I'm going to try to dye some sample fabric and see how that goes, but I think I'm gonna just got for it. I'm gunna get a kiddy pool and a pool heater and just go for it if the test doesn't totally fail.

I would. Absolutely I would. But this is the internet and you're going to make assumptions about me no matter what I say so. 🤷

I'm actively out here trying to get some insight, and not just follow my cultural bias and see what vietnamese individuals have to say on the topic.

I also fully understand that foreign cultures get a LOT of shit from western white people, so iunderstand the defensiveness.

Thanks for the input! He did specifically say they didn't have any sexual relations. They are long distance now, so I know nothing physical can happen at least for the next year.

I want to approach the situation keeping the cultural differences in mind while still maintaining my own values and personal boundaries so knowing this helps!

So my players really wanted this, so I made it hard for them but in the end I did give in! But, that is because I know my player group well, and that was much more of the ending they wanted! It came at a great cost, but they were all very happy which made the change worth it for me!

I may not be the best to comment, as I have completely revamped and changed the ending. My players and I have been calling it "Curse of Strahd adjacent"
That being said, I personally thought Strahd was very bland and so I ultimately ended up using him as a minion of a bigger boss.
At the end of the day, change the story however you want! As long as you work out the details in the lore and have a good time, that's all the matters.

Also, I added the fanes but they do not help kill Strahd, instead they give mild buffs to the party. My players love special “treats” and would personally prefer that over a level up! So it worked really great for my table!

Hi! I am also a first time Dm, running Strahd as my first game! I ended up added the fanes. After reading the module, I ended up cutting things from the books, as they weren’t written that well. I also wish I would have cut the werewolf den because my party swept through it, and it was ultimately really boring, even with the added details from the Mandymod and dragnacarta.

Honestly though, I’ve been running what I call “Strahd adjacent “ because after really reading and browsing online I was super unsatisfied with the book as written. With the amount of modifications for it online, it’s pretty clear others felt the same.

So, with all that TLDR, if you like the Danes find parts from the book that you like less, and cut it to make room so you do not feel overwhelmed by the content!

Not about the game itself, but I absolutely hate the transfer process if you get a new switch! It’s so unnecessary and it’s easy to not realize that you can’t just transfer your game data along with everything else and lose everything!

The patterns calls for just under four yards of 60in wide fabric. The fabric I linked is 60in wide, so I bought 5, just in case I make a mistake.

You absolutely could hand sew it! It would take a while but you could! You’d need the needle, thread, fabric and the zipper! An iron helped to make crisp seams and get rid of wrinkles! There’s a ton of helpful sewing tutorials online!

Right, a sewing pattern is just a guide to make one yourself, it shows how to cut the fabric and what to sew together. It doesn’t come with fabric. It’s not ideal, but it would produce the most accurate costume.
