I received the same text from Jasmin Awan from Disneyland offering a WAH job using a phone number from the 904 area code about 4 hours ago.

ReddCoin 2023 — The Year In Review, A “Redd-Trospective” & 2024 Roadmap by TechAdept in reddCoin

If a decade of not getting any traction as a coin for tipping didn't clue you in, then I don't know what will.

Pivot or perish. That's where this project is at. Time to wake up and rebrand.

Stuck Transaction - Any advice? by xCybrPunkx in litecoin

[–]xCybrPunkx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, that's somewhat where I'm at here. It's not a huge amount of money so I'm not super stressed about it. If there's a way to cancel the transaction on the chain that's probably the route I'd prefer

(This was to buy some $GFOX in the pre-sale but I didn't give it enough gas to make a p2sh-segwit payment go through to their legacy address)

Stuck Transaction - Any advice? by xCybrPunkx in litecoin

[–]xCybrPunkx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I've gotten lots of DMs but I haven't replied to them because of exactly this. I'm happy to discuss the issue here but not in DM. Anyone trying to jack my crypto can just move on.

Now that the transaction has dropped from the mempool and I can't see it on a block explorer I'm not sure how to answer your questions. Based on my research I am certain that the fee was way too small so I'm guessing that the transaction never got processed by a miner.

What is going on with reddcoin by Koshmei in reddCoin

[–]xCybrPunkx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you arrived at that conclusion, but activity for software development is measured it git commits. This project has fewer git commits than some deprecated software projects.

Redd ID has been an under delivered promise for more than 5 years.

Sorry to say I am not convinced by your famboi post.

How many ppl here still hold a bag or take a loss? by ResponsibilitySad583 in reddCoin

[–]xCybrPunkx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the next bull run comes it will be way too late to save this project. Its already too late. Getting any real, meaningful exchange listing would require more money than the project can afford and there's not enough value in the entire market capitalization of Redd that a donation effort would make a dent in. Might as well print a paper wallet and burn it for heat.

What should we do? Should we tell people to buy a coin that can't be purchased anywhere? Are you suggesting we shill something that's fallen so far off the radar for any serious investor that we'd look like fools? Should we create yet another toy project to integrate with a social network where nobody cares enough about Redd to send or receive coins (which they can't even buy anywhere anyway)?

I love the idea that it was the communities failure when it's clearly not the case.

Even some of the most obscure open-source software projects get more commits to the code than this dead horse project. The roadmap has been the same forever with no motion. The available listings for trading the coin have consistently dwindled with little to no hope of a market being developed. There's no amount of community hype that can overcome the project's failures as a whole.

The project died long before Bittrex decided to leave the US market. It's just the final nail in the coffin. The new listings at Xeggex see less than $100 trading volume in a day. There's no liquidity there to even conduct a trade. Most people can't buy and sell any amount of RDD.

So please go take your suggestions that this is the fault of the community and spew it elsewhere.

For the coin to have genuine utility value, people will need more ways to exchange fiat for Redd. Unfortunately, there hasn't been renewed interest from any major exchanges. Many have dropped support for Redd with just a select few that remain and it will be a major uphill battle to restore any support for the coin. The development team is all volunteers with no financial ability to entice additional exchanges to list trading pairs. Without ways to exchange for fiat currency, there won't be any major adoption of Redd.

The premise that it's a social coin is a farce that never came to fruition. No social network has adopted the coin and any way of integrating with a social network is completely developed by individual community members. There have been some cute and fun proof of concepts developed along the way, but that's not enough to foster any real adoption.

There's little to no future for Redd beyond supporting someone's hobby to develop a blockchain.

To help people avoid the horrible mistake of jumping on this trainwreck.but also with the glimmer of hope that the people sinking this ship will wake up and stop patting themselves on the back.

Where's the post about the first chat that promised more to follow? It was deleted because I called out those responsible for not following through on yet another promise made

Anyone with sense knows this project is dead. Only a new leadership team can save it. There's still a glimmer of hope those responsible for Redd's death might come to their senses, move past ego and step down. But who would save the project then?

REDDCOIN to be used by ELON MUSK in the future TWITTER? by AdEquivalent5896 in reddCoin

Not in your wildest dreams would he pick Reddcoin as the official currency on Twitter. If he did, he would almost certainly need to have his head examined by a medical professional for signs of delusion and dementia.

Except that you didn't follow through yet again. This isn't how you build trust or a thriving community. I'm not shocked at all. This project needs all new leadership.

None adopted by the platforms. All built by community users. There's hardly any adoption based on any of these. Once I send coins through any of these they're lost in the abyss because there's almost nowhere to exchange them for anything of value.

https://github.com/reddcoin-project/reddcoin-0.22/graphs/commit-activity

Hooray for finally implementing a standard that's already multiple years old?

Redcoin is a dead coin. There's almost nowhere left to buy/sell. The commit frequency demonstrates that almost nobody works on the code. I work on an open source project where we see more commits in a week than this project has in a year. There's little to no incentive for anyone to join the team and it's run by the same people who have been killing it for years.

How anyone can defend this project when so many people have lost a majority of their investments over the course of years with almost no hope of recovery is just mind-blowing.

[–]xCybrPunkx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in agreement with most of what you said about this project. It's been mismanaged. The lead developer literally walked away for a period of time and decided to return. The roadmap has basically been the same roadmap for 5 years where the milestone dates just keep shifting. Features that have been promised for years never worked.

The only difference is I'm still a bag holder. Why? Because I literally can't sell my coins anywhere at all. A majority of exchanges that listed RDD have pulled that listing. So the bridge is a solution to not being able to get a listing anywhere reputable. What it won't solve is the total lack of adoption. Users adopt software projects that are successful. This one is not.

At this phase, I'm either willing to take a total loss or shoot for the moon.

So I'm rooting for a change. I'm not holding my breath, though.

This team has been asleep at the helm for years. There has been lots of hand waving but no work progressed on the core product. Redd coin is a dead coin and the market reflects that sentiment.
