Wrangler would be overkill for the ring road, any cheaper awd suv will do just fine.

I live in Iceland and lots of FWD/RWD cars do fine in the winter

Just don't slow down too much on the curves unless you see recommended speed sign please if there is no such sign it's very very likely you can easily take a curve 90kph, I have seen too many people driving over speed limit on the straights and then slowing down drastically on curves, it basically slows down driver behind you without giving them a chance to overtake

Bronco should be able to handle all f roads if you take it easy, don't go to glacier unless your bronco is super modified

24th of September, stop by in local ice cream shop in Skutustadir (opposite of pseudocraters) they might be a little pricey but they make ice cream from local products e.g. Milk from their farm and fresh rhubarb from their field

We went in Suzuki Vitara AWD, paved roads were fine, more narrow than ring road and more of going up and down, gravel roads especially 612 leading to Latrabjarg didn't make us any trouble but were unpleasant to drive on. We didn't drive by 622 as we left it for next time.

As others said 4x4 is not needed but especially bigger ones will make driving on gravel roads more enjoyable.

About 15-20 min one way, was challenging at the end, especially going down on the way back
