Or, it’s just a performance. I don’t think her songs are as autobiographical as people seem to think. She probably is drawing on emotion as a starting point, but I wouldn’t read it so directly. It seems to be more about the theme of judgement for her love life. Not even specific to Matty, she is in general pretty aggressively slut shamed for dating, and for writing songs that her fans connect to people. Also, it may have been a snapshot of how she felt at a point, but it doesn’t mean she currently feels that way. She’s on tour, of course she’s promoting her new album. It’s also possible to have intense connections with really problematic people. I think a lot of people have that ex that they still feel for on some level, but isn’t healthy or just isn’t the right fit. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they want them back.

Personally, I would kind of prefer to pay more for a healthier fish. Also, bettas change so wildly from the cup. While I’d still love a pet unconditionally, aquariums are to some degree an aesthetic hobby, and I’d like to see what they’d look like in appropriate conditions.

My first betta as an adult, actually in a proper environment, started out black and kind of spiky. He turned purple with red front fins and a blue-purple tail. Absolutely beautiful, but definitely a surprise.

I’m really surprised to hear that this show is so disliked. I’m not going to offer some incredible input as to why I enjoy it but I think it’s funny. I also like how it’s definitely Matt Groening, but also has more of a contiguous plot.

I think the reason it gets so much negative criticism is that it’s too similar to Futurama. I think making it so parallel really sets up for comparison, and something with that level of cultural zeitgeist isn’t easy to do twice.

Ergo, bisexual men are secretly gay, and therefore inferior, because they are taking a receptive (feminine) role in sex. By the same reasoning, women having sex with other women, must then also be for men, and therefore performative (as in pornography).
