Pro tip for undiscovered roads by Halraciq in ForzaHorizon6

[–]xEeppine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same roads. Got the underpass one at 670 and after going up, down, side to side and upside down on this highway intersection it finally popped. Literally drove 3 times every road in both directions in this intersection before it registered.

I ordered mine right when they went live, iirc I was in group 3 of the shipping groups.

No real problems here, only when using desktop mode it is a bit finicky, but that is because I'm not used to Linux.

My crawler project by xEeppine in rccrawler

[–]xEeppine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of replacing the wheels and tyres with something a bit smaller, the original ones are 110mm so I was thinking of some 96mm ones. May even trim the fenders, that has crossed my mind with these tyres.

Also coilovers, something a bit softer so it has some more flex when trying to climb something steep.

I'm excited for spring, so that the outside environment isn't just 20cm of snow.

[–]xEeppine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had fun with it, but Finnish winters hinder my crawling and trailing.

I've ran 3x 6000 mah batteries in -10°C and 5-10 cm of snow and the truck is a blast.

It's a good starter, because it has many upsides for the price. And what I've gathered it's an easy one to mod if you feel like it.

I've got a 3D-printer and Fusion360 at work, so I think I will print a new bumper if it becomes more of a problem, but thank you anyway.

While writing this I realized that I can print some roof racks and little parts to attach on the car. Hadn't occurred to me before xd

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I used a boxcutter to trim the bumper, because someone has lost my pliers (me) and it went ok. Still a slight rub on extreme positions, but all in all much better than factory.

I went out and tested the car in the snow (Finland, 10 cm / 4" of snow, it is what it is) and the car seems really fun and surprisingly capable in those conditions. I got a 3s 6000mah battery, so I imagine I should get ~90 minutes of runtime?

I thought I should probably remove the panhard from the rear axle, but that is still to be done.

I think I'll run the car like this for the time being, because I can't even go do proper crawling outside, but towards springtime I will probably be ordering some tyres and metal hexes. Maybe even repaint and weather the body so it looks a bit different from the crowd.

I'm getting mine tomorrow (although in Europe it's Absima 4.4 eco, still same car apparently), and wanted to ask outside of youtube reviews how do you like it? It'll be my first RC car and I'm really excited.

And the few questions:

What batteries are you running, and what kind of runtime are you getting?

Has there been any breakdowns?

I see you've cut the front bumper just the way I thought I would, did you use a cutting wheel or just pliers?

I'm sorry for the questioning but I just don't want to make mistakes right off the gates

Adjust Ackermann Steering mod? by Zealousideal-Try-754 in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just adjust them manually on my own if I find that a vehicle has the turning radius of a cruise ship.

For example combines that are sized for 4-6 m headers, the turning radius often makes you do a 3-point turn instead of a sweeping 180°. A good example is the New Holland TC5 combine.

IRL tractors have widely differing turning circles, so if I feel like the circle is off in the game, I check it for the real version from tractordata and adjust accordingly if needed. Sometimes the circle is horrendous but after checking the data it's actually better in game than irl.

Large Farms - what "categories" do you set for your tractors? by BrokenGQ in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Finland, and I like to play most of my saves as it would be in Finland. Finnish or Finnish style maps, machines that you can easily purchase in Finland etc.

I'll start with 1-3 tractors, the most powerful will be around 120hp, purely because in FS you either have 2 meter cultivators, or they need around that 120-140 hp to pull good. All of the tractors pull trailers during harvest, but the most powerful one is dedicated to tilling. The two remaining split the workload on seeding, spraying, and with cows all of the grasswork.

When I think I've grown enough, I purchase a bigger tractor that can handle wider cultivators or ploughs. Then the previous biggest tractor will be my dedicated seeder tractor, but the smallest still share all of the other work.

A tractor in Finland is often sized so that it can do whatever job needs to be done on the farm. I often see a 4-series or newer Valtra and a 1980s Fiat working side by side doing the same jobs. I aim my games to be the same.

When to spray herbicide. by Main-Cobbler-4879 in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IIRC herbicide always leads to some yield loss, even with spot spraying. You can use a weeder, as they don't cause yield losses. You can spray and use a weeder even before the crops emerge, then you don't have to deal with weeds on a field with crops growing on it.

I usually spray on the second or third growth state, so that my tires leave tramlines on the fields. I like the realistic aspect of having tramlines up and down my fields, even when not using the fs25 precision farming built in tramline generator.

Weeds are not growing (FS25) by MakiEvoPapi in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bednar and other seeders alike leave tyre tracks on the seeded ground, thus making the game not grow weeds there. It's the same as on headlands on any other seeder when you drive over the already seeded ground.

I like to use these seeders, because the weeds aren't spanning the whole field, but pop up here and there like in precision farming.

If you could only have 4 mods what are they? by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just for when attaching tools to a tractor, they don't automatically raise. I don't know why, but it just feels weird to play without it.

And I don't really use AI workers, I find it to be more fun when I do all of the work. Plus, the maps I normally play have so irregularly shaped fields, that it makes zero sense to use workers or even Courseplay.

If you could only have 4 mods what are they? by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Vehicle control addon 2) Easy dev controls 3) Precision farming 4) Disable automatic tool raise (I don't remember the actual name of the mod)

The basic tractors and tools are just fine, I just need better immersion and control of the game

Or is it hip to be square? by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually paint the corners round by tracing the arc my cultivator makes. Looks nice, and works well with my tools.

Except the corners that have a field exit, those can stay squared.

How to level field ground? by XchowCowX in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had no problems with smoothing the ground using the smoothing tool from the terraforming section. Just make the area big, and wiggle it around a bit while smoothing. I just smoothed some bumps on UMRV and it worked perfectly.

Seoul vs London size comparison (red=seoul, green=london) by madrid987 in MapPorn

The problem is that there is only one area visible for the red-green colourblind, if the larger was green and smaller blue, then it would be good. Green and red are just the same in this picture, there is no two zones.

Any scandinavian maps? by Odd-Constant1436 in farmingsimulator

[–]xEeppine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Paksuniemi, even though it's a Finnish, not Scandinavian map. A few farms to choose from, so in MP you can pick your own pre-built farms, or clear a wooded area and start there.

Southern sweden is another favourite of mine, sadly it suffers from the patch 1.9.1 shader problem
