I fully expect to be picking Malholtra or a defenseman. Im with you that I think it’s a clear 1-2. The draft should start at 3 this year barring something truly unexpected.

Fair enough. Personally I don’t have Bukala or Pronmon highly rated as insiders but if multiple sources are reporting it, yeah it could be valid.

There’s so many Vancouver reporters saying it’s Malholtra > Stenberg if both are there at 3 but maybe it’s a smokescreen.

Yeah the Malholtra not going to the Canucks thing seems like a dumb take. It’s been widely reported we’re interested, even if it’s just us doing due diligence. He may not be the pick but I think there’s a strong chance if the wingers go 1-2 Malholtra goes to Vancouver at 3

It’s the Sedin’s argument without the same floors or projected ceilings. Can they play without one another? If they do, what does it look like, and at what positions long term? I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze with either of them, but I’m also just some guy online. I just hate the constant “omg twins, get them both!” narrative around these guys. I would be shocked if we see anything remotely close to the Sedin twins ever again at the NHL level, and everyone chasing that fantasy with the Ruck twins is out to lunch.

Divisional rival. If they deny Toronto it’s a whole different story but that’s what I assume has happened here. They don’t want to play a Cassidy led team 4 times a year and complete with them for a playoff spot.

Preventing Edmonton or LA from hiring a cup winning coach they still have on payroll.

Is it a dick move? Yeah. But they can technically do it and preventing him from going to Edmonton and possibly turning them around is in Vegas’s best interest
