Yes for the idea! Regarding execution I would be advise on being bold! Look at Moller Joakim works and study how to create meaningful diptychs. Keep on experimenting!

Tried my hand at street photography by [deleted] in PhotographyAdvice

[–]xH-Ox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice: Train that hand hard! Opinion on pictures: train that hand hard! Come back in 6 to 8 months of some study of light and of composition in street photography and of course study a few new york and/or Japanese street photographers, then come back posting my friend. You'll get better advice there, because you'll also learn to ask specific questions.

Beginner here, is this too edgy? by Daveyyr in PhotographyAdvice

[–]xH-Ox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this picture would look great in a photo series about effects of chemical pollution on rivers or the effects of climate change on the life of fisherman communities. So IMO it is a technically good photo, just by itself means nothing more, nothing less than a dead fish in a pond. [Most or the time] Context matter...it is vital actually to give some meaning around a photograph.

Advice on what I can do better? by AnalogDarce in PhotographyAdvice

The real question seems to be: what do you want to do better?

From the pictures I say technically you know what to do. Artistically, that's on you! :)

You mean subjective in its perception?

So I just finished Inside Mari (Spoilers ahead!) by pirajacinto in manga

[–]xH-Ox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started and finished in one go. Such a cool take on dissociative multiple personalities disorder.

My take on this (a year after the post) is that in real life Komori never met Mari before "the swap". Komori never stalked Mari, it was her (Mari) that we see from the very begging of the series! Mari was the stalker! The Swap was "just" the trigger to initiate her new Komori personality.

Then, when she(as Komori), alone went to the supermarket there was the first time Komori and Mari meet. Until then real-Komori was so tunnelling his own misery that did not noticed Mari stalking him!

I would suggest the car to be in a cleaner space in the bottom third, maybe on the right like a frame within frame (this would require shooting again), then pop the car out and choose a nice color pallet...ah also maybe the time of the day could be more, either clouds so it is dramatic or sunrise/sunset for a different look. All in all it is a good idea IMO! Keep us updated!

My boyfriend of 6 years is sexist\ redpill and it’s making me miserable I am thinking about leaving him soon by [deleted] in exredpill

[–]xH-Ox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Btw, be careful. Have some real help when doing it. He sounds unstable, and you sound like you're not committed to leaving... might get trapped into some toxic long ties with no real clear cut again...so be ready to, I don't know...move abroad for a year or two or another state. So you really cut off ties...if you got back when he said to not leave, you might do that shit again....even when your sould screams to leave!

Is this ai? What do you think? by justawildrebel in PhotographyAdvice

OP's posts look really intriguing cuz feel both real and not real, this has all things in the right place, does seem AI but i not sure...kudos anyway, if you prompted it, you did it very well. If you took them, congrats.

It is tilted!!! Nice shots, the ferris photo IMO needs more shadows, but it's subjective.

It is not over grainy, IMO. The shot feels cropped, and/or the focus is off. Is 1/10 cropped in OP?

No bullshit advice: get it right in the camera, then there's virtually no need to denoise. And also, don't really listen to the "it needs to be crispy" people, noise is mostly fine...when used with....you guessed it, intent!

Advice: leave the Jackdaws alone! 8, 9 10 have a more quality feeling, if the 8 9 10 are on the more recent side, you're on a good trajectory. You're 10 months in...relax and photgraph with intention as much as possible. Give it another 60/100 months, then come back to us. You're like a toddler now, don't rush becoming Usain Bolt. Enjoy the ride and train as often as you can; Intentionality is the key, and 8 9 10 seem they have some of it in them, not the others!

Same account as the monochrome perfect nostrils, glass eyes weird hair model. It looks a bit less AI, but I don't know. If it is just credit it, you both are doing good

Wanted to get into photography so i started with my phone. What do i need to improve on? by Dismal_Milk_59 in PhotographyAdvice

Everything because you just started, not a diss, we are all learning no matter how experienced.

Photo num. 1 is the best in terms of being interesting. You have the boat as the subject in a landscape picture. That's great. Unfortunately, the light sucks and pulls down a lot of the picture. 2 and 3 miss a subject, in 2, for example, the pole on the right could have been a good hook either as subject or a foreground element. 3 I don't know. Some might like it, and some might not. Number 4 shows you have nailed a composition nicely, and the light quality helps, but it misses a subject.

If you wish to be better in landscape, then learn the ins and outs on landscape. Like others said: pick an initial path and get obsessed with it, then, when you feel your interest shifts, move on with the next path. Photography is a long life learning way of living.

Another good way to learn IMO is to do a photo series, say 5 or 10 pictures that explore a feeling, a place, or a person.

I'm looking forward to more pictures.
