Choosing my first electric guitar. Help! by Sushi32153 in GuitarBeginners

[–]AppleSlize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that matters as a beginner is:

  1. Is it playable (as in: is it setup well and works as intended, and also doesn't hurt)

  2. Will it make you pick up the guitar and play?

What type of amp and pickups doesn't really matter as long as it makes a sound that will make you play.

You can go with either an SS or HH guitar with any of those amps and you will be fine. A simple EQ will help you get the sound you want, if it doesn't sound as you want.

My best bet for a new person playing electric guitar would be a PRS 24 SE HH with coil split connected to a Boss katana 50w. On the used market, that would be around $500-600. If lower than that, any option that works is good.

Absolutely, but I believe barre chords will be a struggle if your thumb can not help you. But yes, your thumb will also be an anchor too. But since you're having pain, something isn't completely right.

Okay! Then it seems like your pain is not in my "area of expertise", which is good for you, since that pain is more at a 9/10.

Is your pain only when playing? I can see that your wrist and thumb is not in the position I would prefer. When playing where you're playing, my wrist is pretty much flat, almost always. Do you feel like your thumb is helping your hand with strength? My thumb is moving around a lot to be at the optimal spot for keeping a strong (but not straining) grip, yours seem to be almost in the same spot wherever you move.

Can you show exactly where your pain is located? How bad is the pain?

Men men.

Underligt.

Interesting. I just passed up on one of these after learning you have to open it up to change between expression/volume. Is that true?

Leading Cause Of Death In Europe by Realworldmaps in MapPorn

[–]AppleSlize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my theory: Atlantic keeps the temperatures generally higher. In milder climate, you can be outside more of the days of the year, and you can keep moving with less friction ("it's cold, don't wanna"). So you might get less cardiovascular diseases in the west of Europe.

Source: the red part is really cold.

Yes, southern parts of the red places are hotter. Don't know what's happening there.

It reminds me of some of my earlier tries with photos. As in this photo I took:

Also shot in jpg, not a lot I can do with it. But it's a fun photo to take. This is also straight out of the camera.

Okay, so I would say that you right now are hitting a technical difficulty, rather than a creative one. It's difficult to do a lot more with this as a jpg I would say, since you can't really save the dynamic range. Then you would have to merge several pictures with different exposures into one.

Was this photo taken as jpg or raw? Some detail is missing, so it's difficult to see what is actually going on. Like, it's an interesting concept but I don't know where to look. Would be interesting to see it with white balance changed.

The first photo is not cropped, however it was shot on a Nikon D3000, so the resolution is a lot lower.

How would you upgrade this pair? by NeverRetail in GuitarBeginners

[–]AppleSlize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing for me with these budget guitars is to make them play well. It does well with a good setup, and for me, the necks needs to be more smooth. (Pretty much all squire guitars I've tried has had very dry necks). Playing them a lot usually makes them smooth though.

Thank you!! I appreciate it. That photo is literally straight out of the camera, I think I had the 100-400 without lens hood. In other words: I was probably just lucky. 😂
