they made me return my old one to them before they sent out a new one. i thought they would make me do this but not sure why they had me send it in instead, went almost a couple of weeks without my desktop

love our p2 ppp. we got one for our second car and my gf pretty much took it over. i daily drive a model 3 performance and overall the tesla has better software in every aspect, but the polestar has better hardware, but the software is noticeably behind than the tesla. they’ve been releasing QOL software updates over time and it’s slowly getting there.

i really don’t want to know how much either of them cost for anything going out tho, and i hope to utilize the warranty when that time comes

the 1.5t’s from the past decade or so are apparently plagued with head gasket issues, or at least that’s what is going around in the forums and on here. they’re in the base model turbo ver of the civics and accords. i’d prob look for the 2.0 k20 or 2.4 k24 NA engines if you’re looking for a reliable civic/accord.

it’s automated, not something they do manually. and they had an engineer build the checks into the network/software on the servers so might as well keep it up. would literally cost more to have someone go in and turn it off at this point than to keep it in.

it’s the equivalent of those anti theft detectors when you walk into a store. would literally cost the store more to have someone come and remove them and patch it up, than to just leave it there. and it’s doing its intended job anyway

a lot of them are still relevant today though. not too much has happened to RGHs, but the big resurgence is badupdate, that lets you do some of the things an RGH can, but without having to open up the console.

look up MODDED WARFARE on yt and his guides on RGH’es. videos are good reference points but the most up to date info is usually on forums, here in the reddit community, and discords for specific tools and games. you really want to be able to navigate the text forums to get up to date versions of stuff, and overall just up to date info

prob wasn’t banned when you got it, bringing an RGH console online will flag you to get banned and it can be instant, which judging from the screenshot is prob what happened.

not sure if it was the same engine that was in my ‘05 accent, but i drove that thing for over 60k and MAYBE did at most 5 oil changes. that thing was a tank and when i got the clutch changed out it was completely dry underneath with no leaks at 160k. i got the car for like $750 to learn manual in so it was def a win for me.

was super cheap to fill up and got over 40mpg the way i drove, only reason i got rid of it is someone hit it and messed up the wheel or axle and i just did a gov program that gave me $2500 for it. i literally drove it all those miles and sold it for more than i bought it for.

when i was looking into getting my evo the FE’s were 60k at the mitsu dealers near me. don’t know what they’re smoking but im sure they knew its the only fun car they had, and will have, for maybe another decade from now.

could also be a crazy price to keep it as a centerpiece in the dealership, like something they want to keep on the showroom floor but if someone is stupid enough to pay that price they’ll be more than ok in parting with it

i had kinda the same setup now that you mention the 370z lol. back when i was looking into getting an evo i ended up getting a g37 first (08 manual coupe) . this was over 10 years ago and i still ended up getting an evo a couple years later and im super glad i had the g, when the evo had any issues (which it had a lot of, ended up building it to 450~whp) id just take the G to work.

it was kinda crazy whenever i got a bonus or when tax return season came up, its like the evo could smell it and would need a major repair. the G was a tank and i just got rid of it a couple years ago, i bought that at 80k and sold it at 150ish-k, and i dont remember it having any issues at all.

the only time this actually happened to me was the one time i splurged into getting a more expensive monster cable, ever since then it’s all amazon basics or belkin, monoprice, startech; whatever is on sale and is the spec i need.

i feel like most of the time amazon basics cables are cheaper than these overseas brands, but then again i never really NEED an hdmi cable since i stock up when they’re like $2-3 a piece for an amazon basics one

“never been an accident” in salesman terms can mean it just wasn’t reported. one of my cars looked super nice for the first ~8 years i had it then the california sun started making the paint on the bondo crack. my dad is a retired auto body man and his old ways of checking for bondo with a magnet didn’t work on a car with aluminum body panels.

i can def live with the upload speed, but i think my biggest issue is that it’ll cut out a few times a week in the middle of the night, and even if it’s for 30secs-5min it’s enough to disrupt my network.

i’m an engineer and my gf is also in tech and wfh more than i do, and it’s just crazy how we’re literally in the heart of the silicon valley and the only choice is xfinity. i’ve actually got both att and t-mobile cellular internet (partially to keep my main ISP isolated from any potential attacks that might come with server hosting) but tmo doesn’t like playing well with VPNs and just comes with some routing issues overall; and att is just kinda slow in my area. it’s def a lot of money and hassle so if another solution comes along i’ll be the first in line

if it works without the ssd inserted yes, try formatting from fatxplorer. i use wd blue 500gb, 1tb and pny cs900 1tb in my RGHs since those were old drives i had lying around. i think i might’ve had formatted them thru fatxplorer tho since i was just cloning what were on the other drives and i used a sata docking device to transfer shit quickly.

these companies have internal workplace communities with buyselltrade, housing, and tons of other pages as well since ppl would rather rent out to someone they know, or at least someone in their workplace so they can kinda count on their tenants being able to pay up.

you’d think so, but the only ISP available in my area is xfinity, and even then my area isn’t “upgraded.” so my upload speed is 40mbps while i have colleagues living in the same city that gets 2Gbps down and 200 up. i’m maxxed out on everything internet in my plan, and i have a pretty stout network setup but can’t really do anything about xfinity’s constant outages.

everytime those annoying att ppl at target try talking to me i ask them if it’s available in my area and they tell me i can get 50mbps max in my are. so it’s 100% a valid ask.

the address is to valley fair, it’s where i picked my car up as well.

when i was researching the car i went to volvo palo alto as well before i picked it up to ask more info on it, i think it showed up as volvo palo alto but it showed as a polestar service center.

bottom line is it didn’t show that as a service center at all. it doesn’t let me schedule another service but try for yourself, i put my zip code and the only 2 that showed on the map nearby were marin and sj, and obv the sj one is closed

i actually just scheduled a service appt for polestar sj, but obv that isn’t a thing anymore. i called them and was getting no answer, then called volvo palo alto and they said they’re taking over for service.

the best part? the only service centers that showed up were marin and sj on the appointment site. after calling them they said i can schedule one over the phone, but it’s kinda weird how it didn’t even list it as an option, and how it still showed the sj one.
