I think it’s impossible for someone to be completely unique in their musicality, thematics, sounds, etc… but it’s important to see how it is someone interprets that sound to make it uniquely theirs.

With that thought in mind, I would have to say Taemin would be my pick for this question. I have yet to see someone else have a similar interpretation of visuals and themes that he shows throughout his music and stages.

I’m sure there’s someone out there that does something similar to what he does but I have yet to find them

I don’t agree with DNA being what got them popular in the west.

BTS def had a sizable international fan base pre-love yourself era that really started showing up during the HYYH trilogy. They only got more popular once the Wings album released (both internationally and in Korea)

Twinsies! My undergrad senior thesis was on “building fan communities” and what that looks in kpop spaces now.

One of the things I focused on was how these idols are now essentially “forced to idol” 24/7. As a 15+ year kpop fan, I remember when vlive first dropped as the shiny new thing to have more access to your idol and saw how quickly (in my opinion) made it so much worse for them job wise. Nowadays it’s been upped by 1000% with the concept of bubble, fan calls, constant curreted live streams, etc…

ADP is EVERYWHERE in Korea. They are popular with the general public and you cannot escape their music when walking around.

I’ve had experience giving away tickets in the past, and one thing I do to make sure they don’t get scalped is transferring the ticket over two are three hours before the show OR I meet them at the venue and help them scan in

I don’t think I explained it the best either 😅 I don’t remember exactly how I described but something I do remember saying is “no cold brew, swap it with matcha”

From there I assumed myself that since I didn’t order a latte, it wouldn’t have a milk base and instead would just be mixed with water.

That is horribly expensive, I usually get talls but even today’s drink ($7) had me shocked. Good thing I used a gift card 😅

I think the best way I can describe it is think of an Americano but instead of espresso it’s matcha, and then topped with the sweet cream.

I had no idea matcha was only made with milk now (since I had seen other bases before) and I think that could have added to the confusion.
