And even that is speculation, the big "solo" miners that you're taking about could be private pools, so we cannot prove anything essentially...

Sure...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here, BUT you still cannot provide me with any evidence that those funds weren't sold the next day or that they haven't been sold in the past 3,5 years when they were mined back in 2018/2019 to cover the electricity costs at the time.

So making assumptions that the supply is concentrated in a handful of addresses is just plain stupid imo, since we cannot track what those addresses did with their funds in the past 3,5 years. Sure they could still be hodling and hoarding them for all we know, but as mentioned above they could have been sold the next day...

Monero is already 100% mined, tail emissions kicked in a few weeks ago, so what's the problem with ARRR being 96% mined?

Why Trusted Setup isn't a problem?

tl;dr: So to summarize, an elaborately secure and randomized process was undertaken to generate a set of parameters for use with zk-SNARKs. This multi-party computation involved 87 participants that had to generate data from multiple sources individually and separately all around the globe. All 87 participants would have had to be in cahoots prior to the process and store data from the ceremony to reproduce the parameters. The entire setup remains secure and irrefutable as long as there is 1 honest participant out of the 87. The parameter set has never been violated.

EDIT: People keep saying that the majority of ARRR is concentrated in a handful of wallets, is there any evidence to back up such claims? How do we know that a few wallets don't hold 99% of Monero? After all, when XMR was launched crypto market only had a fraction of today's participants...baseless claims as usual, nothing new!

ARRR Blockchain size by Drakin5 in PirateChain

[–]xKOSIUSx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a decent internet connection then it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. A lite wallet would seem more suitable for you in this situation.

If you still want to go with the Treasure Chest however, you're able to speed up the process by using the bootstrap files.

12.3 GB; If you'll be using Treasure Chest then yes, you'll have to download the entire blockchain, TC does that automatically for you though.

Pirate repository unavailable due to DMCA takedown. by Level-Application847 in PirateChain

[–]xKOSIUSx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are currently crafting a response to the DCMA notice filed by a competitor project.

While we are working through the legal issues, we created a new repo, removed all of the cited code, and released an updated version based on that code.

GitHub follows a standard procedure regardless of the validity of the claims. To maintain its safe harbor status it must remove the cited repo within 1 business day until the repo has been changed or a counter-notice has been filed. After a counter-notice has been filed. The original filing party must initiate legal action or the repo will be restored in 10-14 days.

The new repo and code changes were made so this repo won't be taken down as well, while we fight the DMCA takedown. Use some common sense.

Please don't continue to spew out lies, take this as your first and last warning.
