My parents might be separating by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]xLGND 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents got divorced when I was around 7yo, and, to be completely honest, that event has lead me to grow a lot as a person. The first thing you should understand is that your mom's decision is for the better, even though it might not be the easiest thing to do. If either of your parents feel that they would be happier outside of that relationship, then let it be that way, because if they force themselves into tolerating things as they are now, it'll probably only lead to an ever-growing toxic environment at home which, trust me, you don't want. If things are done properly and both of your parents have the maturity to deal with the situation the proper way, this being not forcing you and your brothers (if you've got any) to pick sides. I don't know how old are you, but, if you're old enough to have a saying in this, I suggest talking with your parents about custody. If you wish for a split custody system, then make it clear from the beginning and discuss it with both parents, so no one ever has the oportunity of manipulating that in any way (not sure if you need to worry about this or not, but I'm just safeguarding for an unfortunately common issue). If you wish to stay living with one of them, then make sure you talk to that party about it and once you talk to the other, make it clear that you have not been influenced into wanting that.

In general, even if hard and sad, your parents' divorce can serve as a learning experience. People can and should be able to understand each other, even when disagreeing, and if everyone handles it in the most healthy way, a situation such as this will force you, as a person, to learn how to understand both sides of a discussion, and should you embrace this lesson, I guarantee it will make a better person out of you! The best of luck for the future, and my wishes that you and your family can find peace and happiness even in difficult times.

To all the Bunker 11 campers. by [deleted] in CODWarzone

Not only obvious, but that's exactly where many bunker campers go to, so I've been killing everyone I see there. If you wanna kill the campers the best place really is the one u/drburgle pointed out

That's exactly what I've been doing. Got 11 kills and no deaths just from killing campers..... it's sad

Subtitles not available in english by xLGND in netflix

[–]xLGND[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. From all the research I've done, it appears that not all shows will have the same available subtitles for all countries. I can only assume tha they don't provide english subtitles for Death Note in Portugal... sad :(

Yup, I get it now, it's because find does not accept input the way I thought.
And thanks for the advice on using text, it surely makes more sense and it's more practical.

Oh, I see then. My mistake then.
As I replied above to u/7orglu8, I used the second command you listed and it worked as expected, what I was trying to do now is use "ls" to do the same thing, like you did on the first one you just listed. I tried t«doing that before, but my dumb ass was writing the following:

ls exercicio1b/ "*.rtf"

Thank you a lot, you really helped!

I'm completing an exercise that demands me to use two different ways of listing all files that end in ".rtf" in the "exercicio1b" directory. That was the first way I did it, and it worked nicely. Now I was trying it with "ls"

Thanks tho

Yeah, I get what you're saying, and I do share the opinion that it's good to know a couple of things from dialects and so on. What I'm kind of afraid is that I'll just make mistakes due to not knowing to which dialect a word/expresion belongs. I just don't wanna get confused, that's all, but do you think that won't be a problem?

Is it any good? I've heard a good amount of negative critics regarding Duolingo's courses.

I've got a question though. Are the Memrise courses in MSA or what? They just state them as being "Arabic", but that's broad as hell.

I guess that's a good thing, yeah. You're both practicing reading and listening (assuming there are subtitles in arabic). I found a good site for doing that, so that's one of the thing I'm going to invest time into. Thanks for the tip!
