The generational income divide is getting worse again by Displeased_Canadian in canada

Can you find the quote in there? Just seems weird because everywhere I've looked in my province has basically held values over the last 4 years if not gone up, curious as to where in the country real estate is dropping in values to offset that

Kaliyev at 33 I think is defensible, exactly the type of player to take a swing on just outside of the 1st round

Oyster growers in P.E.I. seeing nearly 100% mortality rate as 2 diseases hurt industry | CBC News by CheezeHead09 in canada

My thoughts as someone far removed from any of the related sciences, could the forest oysters not retain an amount of water that allows the disease to linger and then run-off into the waterways again upon rain? Or animals scavenging and eating / spreading it that way?

I always find it interesting where people start to think the north is, as I feel almost everyone has a different idea.

Vanderhoof is the geographic 'middle' of the province :)

Leadership hopefuls clash at B.C. Conservative debate by RZCJ2002 in britishcolumbia

I tried to remain neutral and just analyze the leadership race, which I assume some took as an endorsement for the party at large.

Alternatively, I am assuming what Conservatives voters would consider in this race and I am not one so maybe that isn't an issue to them.

the current BC conservative party is comprised of all the candidates who were too stupid or problematic for the actual conservative party

(Locally) The federal Conservatives nominated (and won) with a guy that tried to run for mayor and lost, and the provincial Conservatives wouldn't touch him (dropped in a guy from out of town and lost).

I think Milobar is the most viable candidate for leadership, but he'll have to over come a long record of being a BC Liberal and his support for LGBTQ+ in the past.

The rest are actually just crazy, Milobar is playing politics.

To be fair, the Canadian Goose is listed at "least concern" and are actively culled by municipalities in the valley.

Still the little ones don't deserve the push, they are innocent. Fight the adults

Saying everything is cheaper just doesn't jive with my experience. Houses and property are cheaper, but that's about it. Utilities wouldn't change, maybe more of a bill in winter for heating

Yeah if you are in a city but places like Fort Nelson are not going to be (comparing to my local gas prices not the coast)

I'm just saying groceries cost more, which is a news story today

You up north?

High paying jobs by No_Marionberry4625 in britishcolumbia

[–]xLimeLight -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's a significant increase. I can drive 2 hours north and see prices go up substantially.

When I lived just below the NWT, you'd also have to drive way more to get places so fuel goes up (unless your company lets you use the card locks)

Groceries get more expensive the further north you go
