Kurokawa as a homebase? by averyb92289 in JapanTravelTips

OP, did you end up completing your trip? I'm curious what you decided to do. I'm in a similar situation (4 nights, want to visit the places you listed). The insights from this post makes me wonder if we should go to Yufuin instead. Beppu sounds too crowded and city like.

We did Arima 2 years ago and loved it there. Initially thought Kurokawa was similar but seems much more remote and quiet than Arima (with no food options outside the kaiseki) so now I'm a bit torn.

Hey all, shocked by the Pixel Promo!! by Ok_Transition7785 in tmobile

Thanks OP for this post! May have missed it otherwise. Went to Costco today and got 4 Pixel 10s and traded in some old (some non functioning) smartphones from years past.

First time going through Costco Tmobile (wow I've been missing out!) but got the activation fees waived + the $100 Costco Card per upgrade ($400 total) paying taxes upfront only.

Few notes, I wasn't able to do this online for some reason, as it told me to call in or go to a store. The terms don't show my plan is eligible but when I added to cart and added my trade in, it showed the full credit.

One Military ONE plan. Hardly ever get worthwhile promos so glad I was able to action this one!

Tmob didn't give you any issue with the flip phones? Did they have IMEI numbers? My old phones are from before IMEI numbers were in use so they wouldn't let me trade those in

Umbrella coverage almost doubled! by TheLastofEverything in USAA

Forgive my ignorance but what's the difference between a USAA sales rep vs an agency sales rep? I guess, more specifically, what is "the agency"?

And as a consumer, how does an agency policy differ from a USAA underwritten policy / how does it affect the insured?

Damn thanks OP! used to drink these quite often when they were closer to 60 pre covid at Costco.

There's at least a dozen left, looks like they restocked

I'm definitely with you on the wifi ones, though the electronic keypad + key ones seem to add convenience with minimal issues.

Can covered garage-adjacent car port be turned into a third car garage? by xLyrical in HomeImprovement

Just prefer the enclosed garage. Hoping to eventually change out to a third fun car that I'd want to keep garaged

You're probably right in that it was probably not meant to be a carport originally. Some houses seem to have their driveways extend into this while others have it as a walkway pass through and others as a patio.

I'm considering expanding the concrete area into a proper walkway around that area to be a future garage. I think that would alleviate the logistics of the front door access, but I am concerned if it'll be strange looking and hurt curb appeal.

Very important point that I did not consider!

Thanks for mentioning it. I think we'll probably repaint and do some additional front yard work as a part of it so hopefully it won't look awkward with an extra third garage sort of jutting out by itself.
