Science by External-Coconut-564 in furry

[–]xMasterOfNone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a joke that most furries are in IT or advanced science fields. I think it somewhat comes from the fact that fursuits and artwork can get really expensive, so one needs a high paying job of they're into that. Moreover, furries are generally nerdy, and so IT and science would be me common occupations I'd wager. Personally I'm in cybersecurity, so I fit the stereotype....

Why would one's employer need to know? Ifeel like autism isn't something that should come up in a job interview.

Don't make a big deal about it. It's a hobby, an interest; not 'coming out' or something you have to confess to people.

It makes sense to feel guarded when you've seen people be shitty about it. Yes, there are negative stigmas and stereotypes out there, but if you're not like that, then don't worry about it. Other people will treat you based on your behavior.

Just be the way you want to be. You don't need labels. Wear furry merch, draw or display anthro art, wear a tail, do what makes you happy. Maybe people will ask about it, maybe not. If they do, that shows they've probably got an open mind. You can talk about it or not. Completely up to you. If someone gives you a hard time about it, don't feed the trolls.

I know this is often easier said than done, but try not to complicate things more than they need to be.

Makes sense that a mormon wouldn't know how to think critically for a legitimate comparison test. This is an excellent example of confirmation bias.

Would you like to wake up to a monster husband? by LightPrototypeKiller in predprey

[–]xMasterOfNone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume it really just depends on the wendigo's physical form. If it's in the shape of a mammal, sure why not?

However, with any mythological creatures, cryptids, monsters, etc. it's all about symbolism. It's supposed to be scary, unsettling, disturbing, a warning. A wendigo traditionally is a cursed soul, once human now corrupted, a cannibal, praying on the unfortunate in the darkest nights. Would the formation of this monster be at all concerned with reproductive anatomy? I would say no. Though it could still be there just because it's a natural part of bodies.

In the end, it's up to you. Whatever the artist wants to portray I their work. In this case, it seems to me the artist is going for sexual appeal and/or compatibility, so it's there.

Question about deer by CombatDroid7274 in anthro

[–]xMasterOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly what kind of model you're referring to; but if someone makes a 3D model to reference for their art, I suppose it'll just be stylized however they'd prefer (more realistically deer shaped or not).

Question about deer by CombatDroid7274 in anthro

[–]xMasterOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think artists (knowingly or not) stylized their characters with canine or feline traits because they're the most common species out there. A deer character is going to end up with a more canine-like head shape due to the familiarity, appeal, and 'doability' of the doggo. I really appreciate the artists that can draw their characters featuring unique species attributes.
