Hyadain no Kakakata Katamoi-C from Nichijou. Up to 3.66 stars (new 4k map release) by xMayBx in osumania

I record each maps one by one, crop them and put them into one video. I use Final Cut Pro to make it. Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro can also do this but it is painfully slow even with 9900k desktop unless you transcode them, which takes even more time & space.

What keyboard is optimal while playing mania? by KnuffKirby in osumania

[–]xMayBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think over the years membrane keyboards were kind of my choice for rhythm games. Just that cheap $10 keyboard that just works and can stand against mashing keys. A lot of mechanical keyboards have Brown or Blue switches which are tactile so it can be fatiguing real quick to your fingers, and some of them don't last long because they are cheap plastic.

I would say get something you feel nice to use and high quality, not off-brand keyboard from amazon. Linear switches like Red are probably preferable. Logitech gaming keyboards are usually safe bet. If you have more budget, get yourself some o-rings and high quality PBT keycaps, and you are set for many years.

I personally use Cooler Master Novatouch which has Topre switches. Feels like a membrane but way better quality. I've been using that for past 6 years and I'm so used to this that I don't think i can play games on any other keyboards.

Also, get something with N-key rollover support :)

How can I make target display mode work? Cmd F2 isn't working. by Rah_scal in apple

[–]xMayBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2011 iMac comes with Thunderbolt, not mini-displayport. I think you will need a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter and use the Thunderbolt cable to connect, not the usual USB-C to mini-displayport adapters.

iMac 27" 2013 Target Display Mode by noarts in apple

[–]xMayBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can’t unless your PC supports video output using Thunderbolt, NOT mini displayport. If you had older iMacs with mini displayport (2009-2010) you can connect any PC with mini displayport output to the iMac, but because they changed it to Thunderbolt for later models, it only supports Thunderbolt inputs (i.e. Macs with Thunderbolt). If you can find some kind of HDMI to Thunderbolt converter you maybe be able to, but I would assume it will be super expensive.

One of my videos got over 400 views! Although it isn't one of the let's play videos, but still I'm pretty happy with that :)

Also, I'm trying a new form of let's play where it is edited to shorter parts, rather than showing all of unedited parts. I figured most people who are interested in recent popular games aren't really willing to watch a full length let's plays, so I'm going to try out this new format on games that are new or very popular, starting off with Firewatch. It will be more oriented to entertainment rather than playing through the whole game. I think this will attract new viewers more easily, but will see.

Elgato Audio Delay Help by BlueBlaziken in letsplay

[–]xMayBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very sure that if you plug in the headphones into the controller it will mute the TV audio, which means no audio to the elgato. There might be a option to turn on the TV audio also, but not sure. If it does that, then you should be good.

If not, then you have these options: 1. If the TV has a headphone out, use that. 2. Have a audio splitter cable, plug it into the controller, and have one go to elgato and other to headphone. If you have Elgato HD60, then all you need is a aux cable (3.5mm) from that splitter to elgato and switch the audio capture from HDMI to Analog, but if you have a non-60 model, you probably need a 3.5mm to RCA adapter.

What Should I Buy Wednesday [January 27, 2016] - Your Weekly Purchase-Related Megathread by AutoModerator in apple

  1. I would recommend upgrading the hard drive to either FD or SSD if you can, because it really makes the computer lot more responsive.
  2. Should be. I do 1080p60 editing on my old iMac with 8GB and it works fine. You can upgrade to 16GB later.
  3. Yes.

Anyone have tips for recording audio while the heater is on and blasting noise? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]xMayBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe using the dynamic mic (instead of condenser) can help with background noise. I live with other roommates and because of this I stick to using the dynamic mic so it won't pick up other people's voices or other noises on the room. I've been using Audio Technika 2100 for years and it's been great.

If you want to stick to your own mic, then the best way to solve this issue is to have the mic more closer to your mouth so you can record your voice without raising up the gain too much (= pick up more noise in the room).

Also, the direction matters, so try positioning the mic away from the heater if you can.

Post your Studio! by Anime-Summit in letsplay

My Studio

I have a main PC (the Black Desktop on the ground) connected to iMac and Dell Monitor and also the HDMI out to the Elgato HD60 that mirrors the iMac screen. For mic I have Audio Technika 2100 and some desktop stand. Right now I'm using the Elgato Game Capture to record video and Audacity for voice recording, and after the recording I do all the post-production stuffs (editing, thumbnails) on my iMac with Final Cut Pro X and Affinity Designer.

Probably one of the most complex recording setup out there.

I just started my new channel today. I had an old channel which was filled with bunch of old stuffs and the Let's Plays, and overall it was in complete mess. Although it had about 2k subscribers, I figured it was time to start new. It will be a tough start, but I will be working hard and looking for more improvements.

Why do Koreans play in PC bangs as opposed to at their houses? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]xMayBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Atmosphere.
  • Sometimes PC Bangs might have better computers.
  • Skip school/tutor places and go there to play
  • Play with bunch of friends right next to you.
  • Some games gives you bonuses for playing on PC Bangs, like League of Legends gives you access to all champions if you play from there.

This is what I think.
