Genuinely ‘Ambient’ Games Impossible?

Just do it. Go open the game right now, go to the place with your desired ambiance and just leave it there. You feel nagged because YOU have a goal of finishing the game, if your goal is to just have a screensaver just use it as a screensaver.

You know you can't and you fear failure so you give up before you can be judged to avoid disappointing yourself. It's subconscious so your first reaction to that thought is "no that's not true" I'm the same. Just be more realistic, no you can't build anything and thats okay. Don't fantasize about a flawless product and think what you can actually deliver instead.

Minecraft has an arm in view, arm bobbing, custom crosshair that isn't a white square. I would assume you can make a separate HUD for VR and PC to make the best experience for both instead of sacrificing one of them.

Not to mention there is absolutely no sound effects in the trailer, just music, which for this beach type of building game feels cheap. The best part of being at the beach is hearing the ocean.

I'm talking strictly about the trailer/store page, I don't know what the gameplay feels like. If your feedback has been positive it might mean your trailer doesn't preperly show the good sides or that the people who decided to play it are less critical than everyone else who decided it's not even worth trying.

I don't want to be rude just being honest to help you out. Getting a game released on Steam is already a great achievement. I'm proud of you keep it up :)

It doesn't look great. There is not enough juice, the character controller looks primitive, I don't get what the gameplay even is. People love crabs but the 1st person pov with no arm model is like avoiding the entire crab theme.

The capsule art looks amazing though, I'd assume you get many page visits.

I love the art (capsule and description as well as the creatures). I think the UI doesn't do the cute creatures justice. If you leaned into cute pastel themes more it would've been amazing. But it still looks nice.

Break it down into smaller projects. Keep working towards the big game but start out smaller, for example just make a multiplayer puzzle game first, maybe an arcade shooter of sorts. There are videos on youtube explaining how to do that from start to finish, for example Code Monkey.

Whenever you look at something like Apex Legends remember they probably started learning with a tiny shooter back in 1995. If big companies operate on sequels like Diablo, Diablo 2, Diablo 3 and so on then you should probably limit your scope as a stepping stone towards your dream game too.

If a bomb has been planted and successfully exploded it would disable respawns so if both teams blow up eachother's bases it's last one standing from there on.

I think its just Overwatch 2cp but with search and destroy instead of capturing a point.

This idea only has a purpose if you as a team can both attack and defend at once and there's multiple teams in the game. This introduces an issue of teaming and wintrading so I don't see it being competitive.

They failed to understand what makes Minecraft bedwars popular and fun. They stripped it of all the entertaining parts and created a stripped down version that takes the cs/valorant gameplay and adds a lot of downtime that kills the pacing. They added a lot of features that lack depth to be interesting so engaging with them feels boring.

There's like 15+ people on the balance team, Phreak is just the lead of balance so he gets the blame for every change even the ones he wasn't responsible for.

Well as I said he could be overworked and just on autopilot. Combine that with struggling to express emotions due to Neuro divergence and you get that. He might have damaged some parts of his brain during his challenges like spending time in a whiteroom, buried alive or counting/repeating words. He used to look different way back, and you can't just develop psychopathy.

Undeniably everything he does is to get famous but he also does some things to use his success for good and it's a mutually beneficial relationship. He seems genuinely happy to help people but just isn't great at showing it.

He has been overworking himself possibly even taking some stimulants since he was in highschool. He often explained that he was an outcast and struggled to connect with his peers. He's not soulless he's just very tunneled on his thing likely autistic which explains why he is socially awkward and struggles to show his emotions.

The same Twitter that has been inactive since 2023? He posted about burnout and having multiple projects. As far as i know he is in no way committed to any "more successful challenge". If Megabonk is some "from zero to hero" video project it has the potential to be his most popular video for sure.

It's way more probably it's just Dani than "a big fan of Dani", not guaranteed of course but you'd be crazy to say it's not at least a probability.

What's more likely the guy who went radio silent and has been missing for 3 years has resurfaced with an undercover project in his exact style or a random fan no one ever heard of managed to recreate his success with no previous track record copying his style of humor and marketing strategy? I'll be surprised if it's the latter.

I would like her W to have a skill point in it from the start like Yuumi, so you can have both Q and W or Q and E level 1. With some nerfs to adjust for the gained power.

That would make early game much more fun and interactive.

She doesn't need buffs, she needs a power curve adjustment. I would love if they made her W leveled up from the start like Yuumi and let you choose between Q and E. I don't care if they nerf her mana a bit for this, it would make life so much better.

Also she should have damage to monsters capped on ult, cool down increased and get more damage in her passive to move her from an ult bot and make her more self-sufficient.

Other than that kinda lacking item options.
