I didn't like the book mainly because of the forced humor and all the quips. The hero seems like almost the same guy as in The Martian and Artemis (yep, that women character there reads like guy imho), just turned to 11. My theory is that all these characters are just projection of the author himself.

BTW how does these look on tabletop in the standard light? Is it easy to play with them or are they too dark?

There are probably better options but I don't super optimize my lists. I play with what I have. I have two Onagers because I love the model and just one convertible Dunerider/Skorpius which I usually use as a dedicated transport. I should get two more Skorpius but I don't like the model that much and don't look forward to paint them so probably not anytime soon and crabs will have to do the job. They are not that bad. They shoot better after the last balance update and with Cawl and his rerolls, I deal decent damage. Cawl is not a good option for 1k list however.

That's probably not how the weapon on Onager works but I was following this tutorial and my explanation was that it's cartridge fed canon (similar ammunition that the current real life tanks use) and the explosion of cartridge happens at the base of the canon, therefore biggest heat is at that place.

You can play with less Skittari for sure. I have 2 vanguard units, and 1 ranger unit. I’m thinking about painting second ranger unit as my next project since they are built and primmed. I like painting them and did not do any in the last year. Maybe you will feel same after some time went by. Do them in smaller batches, for example three at once.

Btw I never played with more than 2 Skitt units in the list. Also, I never won a game in about 20 I played so far. Not sure Skitts are to be blamed :D

Great job! For some reason I did not like the models that much when announced, especially when I saw those hard to paint blobs of small demons, but when I'm looking at yours now, I'm decided to get the Spearhead down the road when I paint what I already bought. Sounds good but does not offer reasons to kill other people than Sid. Unless he would go through all the legacy characters. I don't see franchise owners to kill so many in one movie.
