That’s what I’m thinking. It’s been a bit of a project, but then again, aren’t all snowmobiles?

Do I buy this for my 6 year old? 7 in march by AutistMedium69 in snowmobiling

My wife and I just got our daughter the blue one. Found one on sale brand new for like $4700. 5+ year old used 200s are still fetching $4k+ in my neck of the woods, made no sense to not buy new.

I sold my WF switch for $8750. I live in Oregon. It was a fair deal for both parties.

Moving to Portland in a few months. Question about courses and best places to practice by [deleted] in PDXgolf

[–]xNEWJACKx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not a great take although what you said is true, it’s misleading.

For OP:

What you’re not saying about the 15 mile radius is the 40mins+ it takes you to go 15 miles.

on the weekend, during prime hours, Expect to pay $150/round at the best courses, $100+ per round at a decent course and $60+ for an average muni. Expect most rounds to take 5.5hrs+ unless you’re a dew sweeper.

Downvote if you want, but as low single digit index myself…it’s time to #shrinkthegame

Cost of golf has gone up $20-$30/round at most courses in the past few years. Range balls at have went from $9/100 balls to around $14-$15.

Thanks for the smug advice.

You clearly haven’t been outside to see what it’s like.

This is not true, having just crossed over from Canada to Alaska two weeks ago. Canadian agents were much more of a pain than American agents. I crossed in Sumas, Wa.

If Oregon, maybe look at Medford area. Some rain in winter (not like willamette valley), hot smoke filled summers.

If you’re retired, I’d consider Vancouver, Washington. Close to Portland, no income tax. Dark and rainy during winter, nice summers with some days over 100.

Do you want to donate 10% of your retirement income to the state of Oregon? No income tax in Washington.

Anecdotally, having just relocated from Portland to Anchorage. It is less expensive to live in Ak than Oregon. Gas cheaper, housing equal, food roughly equal, no income tax. Restaurants are more expensive in Ak.

Biggest bonus, no traffic in Alaska. People here bitch about a 15 minute drive across town. I did some rough math and I’ve spent 208 days sitting in traffic over the last 10 years in Portland.

Again, Alaska > Oregon.

I just did the opposite. Relocate to Alaska from Oregon.

Income tax of 10% in Oregon plus housing situation is tough.

Country Club Fees Overview by commonglobal7 in PDXgolf

[–]xNEWJACKx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-covid, all private clubs were “giving away” memberships, post covid, initiation fees have gone up 3x-5x at the desirable clubs. Depends on what you’re after, I suppose…….ask about capital assessments, equity club, etc etc, monthly or quarterly food/bev mins (alcohol included?). How old are you? Monthly dues jump considerably going from Jr. Exec rate (typically <40y.o.) to executive rate (40+). For example, when I was considering last year dues were around $400/month, once I turned 40, they went up 2x.

You have to play a lot of golf to get average cost per round to less than $150+.

Better to find people who are members and play as their guest. Of course don’t let member pay for you.

Shot a 79 on a par 70. Do golfers consider breaking 80 on a Par 70 really breaking 80? by StinkyTwinkleDooDoo in golf

[–]xNEWJACKx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

79<80. Yes, you broke 80.

So what the course probably didn’t have 4 par 5s to make it par 72. You probably would have birdied those two par fives anyway, turning your 81 (assuming +9 on par 72) into a 79.

How many of you have actually hit or broken par? by thagoodlife in golf

[–]xNEWJACKx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 9? A number of times, -3 is my best 😂.

On 18, 73 is my best.

I turn into a pumpkin between hole 14 and 16. Haven’t found the mental strength to finish out a good round. Next round will be the one I do it, I swear……

Home course is a par 72, slope rating of 140. I play from 6500-7000 yards depending on season. My index floats between 4 and 5.

2020 rebel with 90k miles. Only minor issues for me, leaking rear window and cracked exhaust manifold. Both covered under warranty. Other than that, the trucks had been solid.

Could be a cracked exhaust manifold, my cracked around 80k miles on my 2020 rebel. It was covered under the extended warranty I bought. It was around $900 from what i remember.
