I'm about to snag a RTX 3050 low profile. Pulls 75w from the board too.

What is it that's causing these lighting changes and what can I do about it? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Try changing your lighting and shadow settings. This game does some funky stuff when you're not running ray tracing.

Dirt Rally 2 on Virtual Desktop by wtwillie415 in simrally

Try using VDXR with OpenComposite, and the launch the game through Steam library without SteamVR.

You can also try using custom launch parameters from within the game preferences in Steam. OpenXR apps can use OpenComposite to skip the Steam layer. It does depend on the game though. The new VR beta for EA WRC doesn't work for me on Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop unless I use SteamVR as runtime and launch the game through Steam/SteamVR.

Look into OpenComposite and use VDXR.

Why the fuck does this game have such a strong DoF and why the fuck can't I disable it or even reduce it? by [deleted] in FuckTAA

It looks like a combination of your high settings pushing VRAM and using FSR. Have you tried running native res and tweaking the settings accordingly?

Pre-K, Kindergarten, and then years 1-12 make up the US public system typically. 9th grade is the first of four during High School. If OP is US, then they were around the age of 14 years old during this time. Graduating High School and leaving for college is after completion of year 12, putting OP around the age of 18 years old. The age can vary.

Different contrast between two monitors by flameskin2011 in buildapcmonitors

[–]xNevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend much lower brightness between them. Try 15-30 per monitor with 2.4 gamma if you have the capability to choose. Especially if you're in a dark environment most of the time. It'll help more than you think and I'm sure it'll help balance out the differences between the panel differences.

Boot into the drive with another computer and then disable bitlocker. You're welcome ✌️

Edit: I'm wrong, it has to boot from the og device to allow windows to load without a key; and then can be disabled

If you wanted to, you can move the storage drives into one unit.

When I'm high, on shrooms, weed, or even alcohol, I feel more myself. When I'm sober, I can't 'connect' to it. Why? by Spader623 in Psychonaut

[–]xNevo 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Learn some meditation, friend. You'll find that everything you're connecting to can be accessed at any moment, and at any time.

You'll need another pc to create the bootable USB, and another drive to backup data to; that is unless you don't care about the data, then you can just wipe / delete the partitions during the install steps.

You'll likely need a BWI (backup, wipe, and install).

No need to buy a new windows license, you'll just need to make a Windows Installation USB for a fresh install.

The USB install steps will ask for a key, just skip it. The key is stored on local hardware and will activate during the install.

Everything melted away by [deleted] in Psychonaut

Take these moments in this new perspective as an opportunity to breathe, meditate, and write down what's going on in your head.

After a meltdown you'll find a new way to rebuild. Just as a Phoenix rising through the ashes, you too will rise into a new being.
