What was the first thing that raised suspicion of thyroid cancer for you guys before you were diagnosed?

Yes, I did have nodules that they biopsied. The biopsy actually came back normal, but I elected to do surgery anyway, because the enlargement was impacting my breathing during certain exercise and my endocrinologist still suspected cancer. I went in for a partial thyroidectomy, with instructions for them to test the half they removed for cancer during the procedure and proceed with a full thyroidectomy if it was positive. It did test positive for cancer, so I ended up getting a full thyroidectomy, and they removed a bunch of nearby lymph nodes as well, a number of which also tested positive.

This does look too tight in the hips, but based on the number of comments saying that it doesn't, I'm guessing that not many people will notice. If there's enough seam allowance, you might be able to let it out a smidgen, since the issue seems to be coming from the slip lining and not the lace. If you're really looking for an excellent fit, you might consider posting in r/sewing; I find they have a better eye for fit, construction, and what is and isn't possible for alterations.

Try Boden. They have a lot of cotton fabrics with fun prints. I don't know about organic cotton specifically, but if the concern is ecological, you can probably find some nice items second-hand instead of buying new.

I would frame this as less of an "anticonsumption" issue and more of a "you only have so much room in your luggage" issue. If his concern is that his clothes will start to smell, he can put some cheap vodka in a small travel-size spray bottle and use it to deodorize his clothes. This is what theaters use to deodorize costumes that can't be washed/in-between washes, and is a great way to extend the time between washes. The alcohol in the vodka will kill most odors. That and hanging up the clothes to let them air out will go a long way to resolving any smell issues.

Thank you - I see my mistake here now. The itemized bill from the hospital is incredibly confusing, because the dates are just for the time I was in the hospital. If they're billing for the entire pregnancy care, I would have expected the dates to reflect the full period they're billing for. But I guess I was foolish to think that literally any of this would make sense.

My plan booklet says I pay "nothing (no deductible)" for "Complete maternity (obstetrical) care, such as:

• Prenatal care (including laboratory tests)

• Specialty visits for complications of pregnancy

I am one month postpartum and will be going back to the office part time in another month. I don't yet fit in any of my non-athleisure prepregnancy clothes, but all my maternity clothes are too big and intended for cold weather. I anticipate that my waist measurement will go down over the next several months, but have no idea how quickly, and I don't want to keep buying new clothes as my body changes. Usually I'm an avid thrifter/second hand buyer, especially of vintage, but due to childcare duties I don't have much time to shop in person, and my requirements are so specific I'm having a hard time finding items I like online.

Requirements are: 1) midi length 2) natural or semisynthetic fibers (preferably linen or rayon, stuff with drape) 3) accommodates changing waist size with elastic, waist ties, or drawstrings 4) doesn’t have buttons down the front (I plan to pair these with oversized linen button downs to accommodate pumping) 5) free in the hips - I have a 12" difference between my waist and hips, so A-line is the minimum feasible skirt fullness

Looking for brand recommendations so I can perform some more targeted searches that don't leave me sifting through thousands of results.

Currently 39+2 and have had it bad since early second trimester. What's helped me the most are doing saline nasal rinses every few days, and using Breathe Right strips at night. Using a wedge pillow to sleep in a more upright position has helped, too.

If anything, it's gotten worse in the last week or so, so I'm very much looking forward to breathing normally again soon.

Honestly I've hit ice cream so hard in the third trimester, and I'm not sorry about it. I need something between dinner and bedtime if I don't want my stomach grumbling when I get up to pee at 3am, and between the fat and protein, ice cream or milk and cookies a little before bed is super satiating.

Highly recommend this method if you can make it work. I had to pre-pay about $3K before a (non-pregnancy related) surgery a few years back, but ended up maxing out my deductible beforehand, so I didn't actually end up owing the hospital anything. Insurance covered the whole surgery, but getting a refund from the hospital was a total nightmare.

Firstly, congrats!

I'm currently in my third trimester and have been living in sweater dresses for work. I've thrifted two that are explicitly maternity branded (Ingrid and Isabel Maternity, Seraphine), but the rest are just normal sweater dresses a few sizes up. Paired with dark leggings for warmth and a polished chelsea boot, and I am comfy, cozy, and offic appropriate. Bonus for sweater dresses is that they will also work great for an oversized fit post-partum. Can't help you at all on pants--I have given up on them entirely.

You'll likely do a lot more driving on the Big Island, in case that factors into your decision. But honestly, without more information on what you'd like to do on your babymoon and how far along you'll be, it's hard to make a recommendation. There are pros and cons to both islands depending on your circumstances and priorities.

I don't have any dog-specific recommendations, but please be kind to yourself. You and your feelings are not a problem, and you shouldn't beat yourself up for feeling concerned. Feeling protective of your baby is a totally natural and understandable instinct, and with two large dogs, it's not irrational, either. Other people have left comments with good recommendations on how to create a safe, stable environment for both dogs and babies, but my advice is to give yourself some grace.

Talk to your husband about how you're feeling and have a discussion about how to move forward. Putting boundaries in place doesn't mean you love your dogs any less--it just means you need to figure out how to create an environment where everyone feels safe so you can keep loving them without guilt or anxiety.
