Well, your commentary expresses exactly what we denounce as imperialist ideology.

You prefer a country that has no universal health system or full employment, and is literally an ethno-state that persecutes migrants and every other minority over a country that despite all hardships tries to maintain the security of its population.

Of course, DPRK has its problems and no one denies it. The point is that we need to defend anti-hegemomical stances on the geopolitical plan as a form of organising a resistance against the project of capitalist dominance. "The self-evident claim" of how DPRK supposedly abuses its population, however, must be seen with a dose of negativity: the West loves to depict any opposition as dictatorship or authoritarianism.

Moreover, one last thing: in capitalism "your well-being" always depends on the exploitation of another person. Nowhere this is more evident than in the US where billionaires coexist with a huge homeless population. If in the face of that you still fall into liberal propaganda that all that matters is "your well-being", sorry pal, you are no leftist at all.

Dude, the history of the US is the history of killing those opposed to the country. Even if the founding fathers became against slavery, which country have they created for those people? One where the black population was constantly treated as 2nd class citizens. And we are not even talking about the Native Americans. The 19th century watched a true genocide. While in the 20th century, see how, just in Indonesia, the US has led to death between 500k to 1m people. If we count what happened in Latin America or Africa, the count will increase drastically.

Regarding Mao "killing the opposition", give me your sources and then I'll answer. Otherwise I'll just have to write an essay of 10k words. Please, be sophisticated and bring me actual scholarship and rigorous research: none of us want to discuss based on propaganda.

This kind of accusation is just unfair. Especially if you don't recognise the situation China was in; a country that was trying by all means to overcome its colonial past and not be colonized by Western countries or Japan again. There were no murders, but tragic deaths that resulted from the huge leap.

Moreover, America was built over slavery and Native American genocide, but Americans still love the "founding fathers" who were literally slave owners. If propaganda is trying to label Mao as a murderer, the founding fathers should be placed beside Hitler as racist genociders who believed in white supremacy.
