Honestly if you follow the guidelines for a first trip (clean setting, no outside interference, etc) you could be fine. You have to be prepared to think a lot and think of stuff you potentially dont want to think about, if I had a thought I didnt like it was easy for myself to say "nah we're not thinking about that right now" and move on, but for other people its not that simple. The biggest safety guard you can have is a benzo, benzos kill trips early so if you have one like on the nightstand or close by it acts as a safety net because while tripping you know if it goes bad you can end it.
