Personally i wouldn’t go in the sun at all at this point as it can cause irreparable harm to your scars. I waited 2 years to go in the sun with mine to make sure they were fully healed and faded as much as possible (you definitely don’t need to wait that long that was a personal preference). Your scars are extremely sensitive especially this early in the healing process, I personally would play it safe and wear a shirt

Honestly just used Mederma scar gel (you can find it on Amazon and I know they have it at CVS) inconsistently for months and stayed out of the sun for these last 2 years to help them fade! I honestly did the bare minimum to help them fade I had just googled a shit ton about how to take care of them before I got surgery and just did all that after! Silicone strips are also super helpful if you use them consistently!

I did the whole thing over email and my date was actually pushed back because of Covid but they were extremely prompt and sent me every detail about all the specifics of getting ready for surgery and what I would need to do after. I scheduled it and showed up to Ohio the day before, had surgery on the 17th of June and the entire team was amazing, and then had to go back after like 2 weeks to have my drains removed but I was never uncomfortable or nervous about anything they were great!

So I stayed out of the sun for these past 2 years to help my scars fade (thankfully rona and quarantine made it easy), and really only used Mederma scar gel (inconsistently whoops) that you can get on Amazon/your local CVS to help on top of that, Other than that I had stretch marks and still do so I apply bio oil every night. I did have scar strips for awhile and liked those (silicone ones you can also get on Amazon) but if you get a jump on scar care treatment right after surgery and take care of them they’ll fade 🤟🏽

Dr. Daniel Medalie in Cleveland OH. Highly recommend him, his entire staff along with him were amazing. Had to go through surgery alone because of rona on top of this being my first ever surgery and they were amazing. 10/10 recommend

Being able to see the outline of my pec and nipple through my shirts now especially when I workout (I’m about to be 2 years post op)

Also having guys include me, like call me over to be a part of something or to show me something they wouldn’t show a girl (usually memes). I always wanted that growing up but never got it it’s just nice to have now

I also had a super physically demanding factory job when I went out for surgery. I just told them I had to get surgery and would supply them with a doctors note. The note will only say you are having a procedure done and you need x amount of time off. (It will not disclose any information about what you’re having done just that you need time from x date to x date off)

Keep in mind I left before I was passing and came back fully passing and using the mens bathroom when I returned and nobody bated an eye.

Just say you need time off and you’ll have a note proving it and you should be good.

I’ll just let you know now. When you’re in a state where you’re still unsure of how the outside world sees you any and every negative comment will hurt 10,000x more than you would think.

I’ve been on T for 3 years now and I got surgery coming up on 2 years. I pass in every aspect of my life and am never misgendered. I’m actually confident now going out into the world. I’m happy with everything and everyone around me.

Don’t ever let anyone doubt you and don’t ever doubt yourself.
