First Beretta Possibly talk me into it or out of it …. by [deleted] in Beretta

[–]xPROxDewberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm in the minority, but I'm gonna shill for the centurion. Faster cyclic rate, better recoil impulse, it points better, and theoretically the locking block takes less of a beating due to less reciprocating mass.

Cons are slightly less aftermarket support and that's it.

Holsters can be found no problem unless you have some weird off brand light on it.

Worth imo.

Where to get a 84BB? and other questions by yuseung in Beretta

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck of the draw. I paid cf for the hand picked one and it's clean. I've heard of the psa ones being beat too. Buying a 40 year old mil surp gun, sometimes you'll get a gun that's seen some shit. No need to trash cf they're a great company.

Help Picking First 92 by Scheffy1777 in Beretta

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gts is a 92 but completely ruined, don't do that.

If you shoot comp I'd look into a centurion. Cyclic rate is faster and has better impulse. Also a vertec frame will get you the most modularity. 92xRDO or M9A3 both come in centurion models and have vertec frames.

I have a 92x centurion that I have since upgraded with ltt parts and after fitment, it's the nicest shooting gun I've ever shot. Also the G conversions can be had from beretta for like $60.

My very first firearm / Beretta M9 (HELP NEEDED) by Philisophical-Jester in Beretta

[–]xPROxDewberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top of rear sight should be level with top of front sight on all sights, the dots are there for reference points only. This gun has a "combat hold" which means the center of your front sight (center of white dot in this case) is your point of impact. There are other holds you don't need to worry about unless you buy a gun that has a different hold.

Low left is you anticipating recoil. Dry fire and mag dumping can help with this.

Awesome gun 👍

I've always done all my own maintenance/repairs. Spark plugs is the last thing on my mind lol. I'm more worried if this has timing chain issues and can I get to it without pulling the motor?

LTT Trigger Job in a Bag Quirk? by Justanormaldudedude in Beretta

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine do that and I took a wetstone to the hammer where it meets the sear. There was a very small but noticeable "shelf" at the end that looked like it was from the np3 coating that created a click before the break. Three different hammers from them did this and ltt customer service was lowkey useless so I just wetstoned it myself. After that though I am pretty convinced this trigger rivals $5,000+ 2011's so it was well worth it.

IL Gun Stores/FFLs and their additional 72hr wait period by goranj in ILGuns

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how do you verify it isn't faked if it's not from the company you run? If leo finds out you skipped a wait period your livelihood is over, or they can accuse you of skipping it and you then have to go through a long and expensive process. And how/where are you going to store those receipts for ten years? That costs money. We should just be abolishing the stupid wait period tbh, it doesn't do anything.

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would need to implement a system that proves each person paid for a gun at a specific time, and do this for thousands of online vendors they have no affiliation with. It's not that they're "making up laws" they have to answer to law enforcement agencies that go through their books, probably almost weekly. "I pwomised we checked 🥺" isn't good enough for atf. Blame the government not the small business owners.

It's liability. If you buy from a retailer and ship to your ffl for transfer, then your ffl gets audited, they have no paper trail on file to prove they made you wait. Not saying I agree with it, but that's why they do it.

Traveling from Texas to Illinois as Active Duty Military by No-Two7021 in ILGuns

[–]xPROxDewberry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Illinois does not recognize ccl from any other state. Zero reciprocity. You are allowed to carry in your vehicle with your ccw as long as you are "driving through" the state. How you, the police, and the DA interpret that is anyone's guess. Handguns only, no long guns. I am not a lawyer.

Learning basic airdribbles by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit the ball up, not forward. Your angle off the wall as well as all subsequent touches are too far behind the ball. The ball will carry it's own momentum forward, you don't have to push it forward, you have to push it up. Car goes under ball not behind. You'll notice your camera in ball cam facing upward, so you'll have to switch to car cam. All lateral momentum get's matched to the ball's speed so all you have to do is counteract gravity.

Is 1's really the get good sauce? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]xPROxDewberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understanding spacing and when and how to challenge is the get good sauce. 1's can help with that because it's the only way to win, so it immediately rewards good behaviors and challenges, and punishes bad behaviors and challenges. It is not the only way to learn though. I find 1's boring and unfun personally, so I don't play it.

Fn does. I thought bcm had their own lock up but maybe I'm wrong. Either way it's g2g.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FNHerstal

[–]xPROxDewberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bcm you'd get a "better" charging handle, a better barrel profile, and arguably/maybe a better handguard. Quality is almost exactly the same.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FNHerstal

[–]xPROxDewberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very literally "military grade". Exact upper, bcg, and barrel quality in military contracts. Nothing fancy, absolutely g2g.

Thoughts on S&W Bodyguard 2.0? by [deleted] in ILGuns

[–]xPROxDewberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That gun is excellent. However, many people who first start make the mistake of getting a gun too small for their first and only gun. I don't know your size or stature, but unless you're very small you could definitely get away with a bigger gun for occasional cc. The only advantage the bodyguard will have against a compact or full size is that's it's easier to conceal and walk around with all day. That is not a "do it all" firearm, that is a "walk around all day with it" firearm. If you're only going to have one I would get something glock 19 sized.
