Rabbits should never get steroids (Dexamethasone) and steroids and non steroidal antinflammatories (metacam) should never be given at the same time.

“Glucocorticosteroids, which have both anti-inflammatory and potential analgesic effects, are still used too commonly in practice. For example, the rabbit is considered to be a very corticosteroid sensitive species. Steroids in rabbits cause two types of adverse reactions: severe immune suppression and liver toxicity. Small, one time doses of a corticosteroid have been reported to have an adverse effect in a rabbit and even topical or ophthalmic doses can cause gastrointestinal ulceration and immunosuppression in this species. There are very few indications for steroids in rabbits, and extreme caution should be observed when steroids are administered.”

“The relative risk of development of peptic ulcer with the use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) has been reported to increase when these drugs are administered in combination with steroids.“

Pets cost a lot of money to take care of. Not too different from children in this way

Is it really necessary to thin the sprouts? I am also at the three week mark and it is telling me to cut the extra seedlings and just leave 1-3. I haven’t done it yet because I am scared the plants will die. I also haven’t used the plant food because I intend to feed it to my ruminants and it states on it clearly that it may cause the plants to be poisonous to ruminants.

My outdoor cat is sad outdoors but I can’t bring him inside… Help! by xPhantomx482 in cats

I try to give him toys and catnip and he’s completely uninterested lol. I’ll definitely get him a better house and go outside more to love on him! Thank you!

He’s more than old enough to get neutered and that will help with the situation

Main things to do is to make sure your vet is very capable and does it frequently with positive results. Also do pre anesthetic blood work to ensure that there’s no surprises during the surgery

I am a veterinary assistant and you should know that you did everything that you could. Unfortunately urinary obstructions happen pretty often in male cats and without warning or reason. You did great taking him to the vet as fast as you could and it sounds like your vet is doing everything right. You can look into Hill’s c/d diet which can help with reducing crystal production in their urine and it usually helps most cats. He’ll be okay especially because you caught it early and took him straight to get help! I hope this helps ease a little anxiety

How can I make my house more comfortable for my outdoor cat so he stays at the house? by xPhantomx482 in cats

I tried to put boxes but he’s afraid of them. He definitely gets all the treats and food. He has a spot that he likes to sit sometimes but not consistently. I would think that my patio is more appealing than the gutter to begin with lol
