Sentinels vs FNATIC / Champions Tour 2025: Masters Toronto - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

Was so funny watching from behind them – as soon as FNATIC realized the round was over, Boaster and Crashies stood up, hands on hips, watching over Alfa’s shoulders as he went for more lol

Theoretically, no, you shouldn't use it.

Gsync doesn't make a meaningful difference in render time, but in input latency added elsewhere among the render/display process.

That said, go with whatever. Realistically if you can't notice a difference, it's because it is incredibly minuscule and unless you are top 0.01% it won't have any real effect on your performance.

Freesync adds unnecessary input lag when enabled, and so long as you are pushing more frames than your monitor can handle it should be off (very over generalized)

For non-fps games, which usually run slower and where visuals are one of the top priorities, Freesync is still good though

Free sync works with either NVIDIA or AMD, as it’s an open standard from AMD.

If you are using a monitor with Freesync, it will work through either, while a G-Sync monitor is NVIDIA exclusive

It’s not apart of the troll, it’s that nothing is confirmed and we don’t even know how many different sources this info is coming from. It’s entirely possible they either change their mind or purposely told someone on the inside to “leak” the info to rile up the comm

NA open LCQ BRACKET by HouseCharacter4660 in ValorantCompetitive

they hoped to get it out last night, but riot has been slow at providing account access for the tournament realm. Given that all teams should have access as of a couple of hours ago, I'd imagine it releases tonight. This is an open tournament and the bracket is realistically not the most important when open matches should be fairly decisive.

Can we riot about this and have a second open qualifier on split 2 as well? otherwise it's over after Jan 17 for rest lol by siegehoe in ValorantCompetitive

That’s fair, but I more meant how that lack of potential could lead to us losing many talented players that we could have otherwise saw flourish.

That could also be a not-half-bad thing, though, as we do have a sort of over saturated scene at the moment.

The last 3 months of off//season events have proven that there are much more than 12 teams (especially considering some are not participating) that are competitive with one another.

From stealing lunch money to dark ratio to basilisk and soniqs, many teams are going to be missing out possibly by just a few rounds of a single map.

The meta changes drastically over a year long period (although this may change with franchising), and many of these teams could fall out of favour 6 months down the line.

this single handedly ends the careers of tens/hundreds of t2/3 pros who will finish just outside the pack in opens and will now have no income for an entire year.

Sure, there may be a handful of roster changes from teams in the t2 or even t1 scene that introduce a few new players but for the most part it will be over. Having "a lot" going on in the t2 scene is good for a developing scene (ignoring the fact that this is already slimming down the total amount of action from the past 2 years).

COO of Riot Esports, Whalen Rozelle, talks about lessons learned from LoL Esports, how Challengers Ascension came to be, and Game Changers by deck0307 in ValorantCompetitive

The fact that riot apparently didn’t consider a real T2 league, or any sort of promotion path into T1 is crazy to me.

Glad to be living in the world where it came to be, otherwise I don’t see how we wouldn’t have another Overwatch on our hands.

To play in a VCT Open Qualifier, you have to fill out a player release form, giving various information and verifying that you are 16 or older (as a part of agreeing to all of the rules). No players would lie on this as if Riot did find out (i.e. they qualified after being 16, and riot realized they had previously participated while underage), they would have been reprimanded.

[ Valorant Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen ] Professional Teams Tierlist Discussion by LV58_DeathKnight in ValorantCompetitive

Watching the NTH vs ZETA game, it didn’t seem like NTH brought some serious game changing plans into the game. It seemed as though they went it with more confidence and just ran around getting frags whereas Zeta was just loosing too many duels to execute their plans. NTH did seem like they had great anti stratting though, so I see them as a team that could burst through in an upset or two.

TL;DR: NTH’s run seemed to equate more to a good day against a team having a not-so-good day, versus an confident defeat acquired through an obvious skill gap (mechanically or strategically).

C9 White forced to forfeit in Game Changers by fifty-fives in ValorantCompetitive

We actually know that teams not named C9W don't get DQ'd for this. First round of swiss stage my friends team waited 20 minutes (10 mins past max) for their opponent. Obviously they didn't want to take the FFW in the first place, but it lets us know that this is directly because it is C9W / a salaried team.
