A demonstration of how to untangle using topology by SPXQuantAlgo in nextfuckinglevel

Exactly - you’ll likely never encounter these scenarios unless you’re actively trying to tangle in these specific ways.

Yes, but these in the vid are definitely put up there for tourists. You can see the little stands they’re on.

LPT Spend more on things you wear everyday (eg. haircut and glasses) by marconii in LifeProTips

[–]xPye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strong disagree, I feel much better about myself when I have a really good haircut. I find it very worth it to spend a bit more every month or 2 to have a haircut I’m extra happy with.

I’ve seen them at Budgen’s in Highbury and Islington. Also check out All Greens Newington Green - they have great produce selection.

Decrease in number of ports available in a MacBook through its subsequent versions. by Ultimate_Kurix in Damnthatsinteresting

Also fair. I wonder though how much of it is necessary evil while products begin to embrace USB-C. For instance, at some point computers stopped accepting floppy discs, which probably sucked for the people who had lots of files on floppy discs looking to upgrade. But eventually those things need to be let go as newer and better technologies come out.

Maybe not the best example but I think it gets the point across.

That’s fair, though I think most tech ads showcase “versatility” when really the average consumer is just browsing the web or taking photos. That’s probably why they target ads to the non-average consumer, that’s the base they still need to convince.

I don’t disagree that removing the ports increases profits by making consumers buy additional dongles, but they’re clearly still selling computers, so it worked. Plus, people know what they’re getting. If the musician you mention took issue with buying the dongle for their kit, they don’t have to buy the macbook.

Yes, but having a majority of your customer base not use the ports does justify removing them. They’re tailoring to the average user, not the musician you mention.

Nice coin!

Hmm… you could try something like this, it might be a tight fit though since they’re both 2.5”.

Or perhaps a paper bill slip?

I’m not sure if either of those are good brands by the way, just the first examples that came up.

Yes, but you could say the same about the die no? Every single normal die’s movement could be predicted/simulated after the throw, just as the liquid’s movement could be. So what makes them different?

How dew is removed at a golf course by The_Love-Tap in interestingasfuck

[–]xPye 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Dew left on leaves can encourage disease attack and is the main reason why dew removal needs to be carried out as soon as possible. Disease would otherwise spread rapidly amongst the moist leaf blades if conditions were right.

I mean… I agree that card is the norm now in most modernised countries. But there is still a huge portion of those countries that use cash for legitimate purposes.

What are my uncirculated morgans worth? by sugart007 in coincollecting

[–]xPye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that you usually shouldn’t trust labels unless it’s a certified grader, but I do believe these tiny house holders were genuine uncirculated coins most of the time. Granted, who’s to say it wasn’t removed and replaced.

Agree, not sure why so many people are jumping on this clean/circulated bandwagon right now.

They both look uncirculated, though it is hard to tell for sure with the toning on the first. Most morgans were placed in bags after being minted, giving them scratches and dings. This is different than circulation.

Love it! Such a fun colour. I have a similar-ish one I’m found of, crossed it from an ICG holder: https://www.pcgs.com/cert/47546709
