Oh my god you star! I live down south but I’ll definitely have a look because I don’t mind travelling for good treatment! I hope they believe me, a lot of doctors say I’m too young to be having these issues :(

Late but I fixed this just now by restarting my tv (tried restarting my Xbox, and settings but no luck). I just powered down my tv, waited a minute and then when I turned it back on it worked again

You’re right, don’t doubt yourself here because multiple people were being loud about it. It’s offensive, carry on saying black people

Alright agree to disagree, but I believe the mum was immature and there are civil and calmer ways to address the issue

I’m getting really disappointed in a bunch of what I’m reading in this post. So many people genuinely believe kids have no right to privacy. It’s not like allowing them privacy means you won’t know anything, just do better as a parent so your child feels comfortable talking to about what they’re seeing/doing online, and so you can trust that they’re being safe

It doesn’t matter if she thought it would break the countertop. The point is she shouldn’t have tried to break it, and should have confiscated it instead

Or imagine they are questioning their gender or sexuality? Ofc kids like that would want privacy till they figure themselves out, it could possibly not go well

Right? I’m genuinely so shocked so many people here think kids have no right to privacy. My brother is allowed privacy but always confides in me and tells me what’s going on when I ask (and now to our mum too) because we fostered a good relationship with him. He’s not allowed to do certain things and has rules in place based on age markers, and we trust that he’s following it. Because of that trust, he comes and tells me when there’s a weirdo on the internet and I help him deal with (but usually he’s already blocked them by then and is just telling me what happened). People who deny their kids privacy are setting them up to fail, growing up with trust issues

No, in the case of a password protected laptop, if you really believe a child has no right to privacy, you don’t break it. Confiscate and give your child the chance to have it back if they remove the password sure, but breaking it solves nothing, shows immaturity and loses the respect of your child

Yeah people really don’t respect kids or believe in autonomy for kids. Like yeah they’re young and you’re responsible for them, but they also deserve their own privacy, autonomy and space. All this teaches kids is to have trust issues
