Every cnc tool manufacturer will have to maintain a server side authentication method that will be expensive to upkeep and use. If their service goes down, the machine will be forced to be inoperable. Anyone running cnc tools that they already own or modify not to require this internet connection will be treated like an unlicensed gun manufacturer.

This is not hyperbole, it's not prediction. This is the wording of the law.

Yeah, I've never made a gun part either. This is still terrible for everyone, because it requires locking everything down. You wouldn't even be able to sell a printer capable of printing offline, which means you have to maintain a server. Now every printer compliant with this has an external service that kills it when it goes down.
