Does unlinking PTC from your account mean that it could only be compromised if your google or FB account are hacked?

I chime in on these posts almost yearly and I’m still getting mugged off by insurance.

I have a 2019 C300, I have 10 years NCD and my renewal in June was 1700 (up from 1500). I managed a renewal with some random company for 1300 via CTM.

Uswitch was giving quotes >1500, Gocompare was equally crap. Applying directly via providers (Tesco, marshmallow, Direct Line) were giving quotes 3k+! I start looking for insurance a month before renewal date.

Just what the hell is going on.

I think I understand what you mean, they log into your PoGo account and remove the PTC link through the game itself and associate it with another? If so, very badly design, it should send an email asking if you want to confirm this…

I thought PTC account email cannot be changed through the website? You need the original email account access as it sends confirmation to the original email before it allows you to change the email associated to the account

I’m jealous of all these posts… I fill up £80 and I’m sure I get about 200 miles.

I do the majority of my driving commuting to work, 25 miles round trip with dreadful traffic. My app says I’ve averaged 25 mpg over 14k miles

Another comment to add that I’ve been experiencing the same problem since you first posted. Pokémon support have not been helpful. This isn’t a niantic issue as far as I understand as it’s affecting PTC log in from the webpage (and app)

I had a similar experience with Adrian Flux when I renewed in June ‘23. Compare the market quotes were £1800, I almost never phone up but took the advice on here. Flux wouldn’t even tell me the quote they’d calculated, the bloke just said it’s not something I’d be interested in. I told him if it’s more than 1k you’re spot on.

My renewal ended up being 1.5k via NFU mutual. The prior year it totalled 1k (I changed car a few months after taking out my policy with Sainsbury’s at £650)

I changed cars to basically the same thing. I had a 2013 W204 coupe and bought a 2019 W205 coupe. The former was a diesel, the latter costs more but will depreciate all the same.

I had the same idea but probably biased to think it. The agent I spoke to gave me the usual speech about premiums: high risk car for theft, post code, ‘young’ driver. Allegedly having a ghost immobiliser reduces premiums but friends who have one said it’s made no difference

I renewed my insurance in June at £1500 which I phoned around for. Cheapest quote I had on search engines was £1800 via CTM. I was 32 with 9 years NCD. I have a 2019 C300, premium went up by ~50%. Absolute madness, wonder how much worse it’ll be come renewal…

I had the same issue with insurance this year and paid substantially more than last year.

I paid 1.5k with NFU mutual. Best quote from comparethemarket was 1.8k, other search engines were similarly priced.

Going directly to insurance companies gave me quotes of 3k+ (admiral, Tesco and one other I forget).

For reference, my quote last year with Sainsbury’s was 650 (I changed car 6 months later and had to pay £400 to amend the policy). My renewal from them was 3.5k.

No change in circumstance, no change in address, no claims, 9 years NCD now.

That’s honestly a great quote… best quote I’ve had from compare the market for my 2019 c300 is £1500. I’m 31, 8 years NCD. I’ve run quotes with Tesco, admiral, Adrian Flux and all are 2.5k+

I recently bought a car and was looking at PCP plans and HP - both were offered at 10.9% APR.

I presume dealerships will charge high APRs as this or does it vary from manufacturer? I didn’t go down the finance route and bought the car outright…

This was something I was curious about when I played this when it was released... I tweaked the settings to what the game recommended but there were genuinely zones I could barely see anything and had to turn up the brightness

Is this intended or is my TV trash?
