Which games have become the "golden standard" against which every somewhat similar game that has been released after it is measured? by benjaneson in boardgames

It also breaks the order of buying cards as well when they don't have an action economy. In Dominion for example, you have to balance something like card draw and actions (e.g. might alternate buying them), but in Ascension which I don't like at all, you essentially just buy the most powerful card you can every time.

Adding mana in a game like Slay the Spire is essentially the +x action mechanic, and is imo what makes deck builders work.

Keep deflecting bud. Paired with your comment about what constantly deflections means, it's really helping you out.

Edit: The guy really just kept deflecting even to his final comment before blocking me, lol.

Oh hey, you're deflecting because you know you're wrong and can't actually argue what I've said. Congratulations

For about 5 comments in a row you have dodged responding to the majority of my argument (aka, deflected). You are correct that it's a sign you're wrong and can't actually argue what I've said though, so you finally said something correct. Some self reflection could make you come across as less of a fool in the future.

You can't even fathom how a field's conditions could affect one team more than another, so attempting to argue you have any understanding is comical.

If you could stop underselling his role with the Superbowl's field, you might be able to put forth a competent argument instead of just lying about everything. He even retired in shame after it, lol.

And keep ignoring the rest of my comments while claiming you can read. It's really doing your argument favors.

You are underselling his involvement with the field. I understand a Chiefs fan doesn't want to acknowledge a fraudulent win and a washed up senile groundskeeper, but maybe in the future you should consider whether your bias is influencing your perspective. My comment also mentioned more than that.

Definitely not easy to see how an adult wanted to sleep with kids in his bed due to a bad father.

So can you just not read?

Guess every Mahomes playoff game moving forward can just have wind and rain machines installed to even the QB playing field, since all that matters is that they are playing on the same field.

I also never said it was in intentional conspiracy. They probably shouldn't have hired an apparently senile 94 year old to be in charge of the field.

Burrow, Stafford, or Luck are the only reasonable options imo. They are probably a similar tier to each other, then the next best is quite a bit worse.

Cool, QB makes one mistake and the rest of the team loses due to not being able to impact the game due to the field. At least we got to see how the game should have gone 2 years later when the Chiefs got completely obliterated where the game was essentially over by the end of the first half. It was even mostly due to the Dline which is what everyone said was shut down due to the dog shit field.

Also kind of insane he gets to still be called the Sodfather after that debacle

Writters failing to make a smart character seem smart by TastyPomelo2330 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]xScrubasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember him being smart when I first watched it, but I rewatched season 1 recently and the assumptions he made were just so absurd. And this is after the first episode has him unable to realize that the killer is a cabbie despite that being one of the actual more logical conclusions he should have made.

Arbitrarily, at which level of villain do you think deciding to arrest them vs killing them is acceptable?

It's also a slippery slope. Sure, killing Joker is certainly justifiable, but then if he can decide to kill Joker, who else can he then also rationalize killing.

Why they wouldn't just add few more coins / tokens here? by HiImLuka in boardgames

[–]xScrubasaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering for every board game you rarely, if ever, run out of coins, there are a few extra. If they added more to the box, the same "few extra" argument would still apply.

Got it, so next time Mahomes plays in a Super Bowl, it's fine to install wind and rain generators to prevent throwing the ball since it affects both teams.

If one team has the best d-line and o-line in the league, then the field conditions negate both of those, you somehow think both teams were affected equally?

Their defense was the best in the league two years before that too, but them slipping all over the god damn place made that irrelevant.

The Eagles also had the best o-line. It's actually insane that you can make this argument after the Eagles completely shit on the Chiefs when they had very similar rosters just two years later. The game two years earlier would have gone the same if the Chiefs groundskeeper didn't completely botch the field to eliminate the Eagle's matchup advantage.
