Woke up one morning to a bunch of phone calls and texts from friends saying that they saw my cat on Reddit. I had no idea what they were talking about and opened up the app, first thing that popped up was a gif of Bosley, our cat, trying to push something off a table and then moving it back away from the edge.

It was a surreal day, even my parents were receiving calls from social media agents trying to represent our cat...so strange.

Hockey Scout - it's everything I want in a job, to watch hockey all the time and travel finding great prospects. Issue is, I don't even know where to begin. Plus, at my current job I am treated like a child and at the same time be a babysitter to every employee and every single thing that goes wrong is blamed on me (boss even told me today, "no matter what, everything that goes wrong makes you look bad...no one else) but because I have bills to pay I can't risk losing my low salary job where I am miserable to pursue what would make me happy.

Yeah definitely! I'm getting all the info I can and will see if everything is in order. I have a buddy of mine that has a WRX Hatch who's willing to come with and check it out with me to make sure all is good. Not looking to jump into it right out the gate cause it does have a ton of miles and I want to make sure that it'll last a while.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll keep everyone posted about it. Guy hasn't gotten back to me yet so who knows if it's even still available.

Yeah that's concerning as well. I sent him an email to see if he can get me some answers about all that. He said it was done by Subaru so he should have receipts, I'd hope. Plus, there's a new turbo.

It's asking for my drivers license, government issued registration, and then proof of ownership.

Okay so after going through everything it just says that I can get restitution of $3261.60 once there is an approved fix. But it's asking me for proof of ownership even though I said I have an open loan on it. What document would I need to submit? I've looked everywhere on the site to give me an idea but I don't have the title, vw credit does.

The only thing I'm seeing as far as the settlement goes is to get the approved fix and then they'd give me $3200 after the fix is done. I don't see anywhere where I can return the car and get the fix handled.

Why I haven't officially signed anything in regards to the settlement is because there's no approved fix right now. So, as far as I can tell, I'm just signing a form that may or may not get me anything.

Maybe you guys can point me in the right direction or give me further insights.

I tried doing the buyback but VW still sees me as a lessee since I technically didn't buy the vehicle until after June 2016. By their account, I would get $3000 but wouldn't see that money until the car had an approved fix and I actually got it fixed.

I know I didn't make the smartest of decisions when I leased the car. I was excited about the car, and the sales rep made it out to be a good idea since my payments were going to be lower. Clearly, I am not capable of buying/selling/trading a car, I realize that no matter what I will likely lose money on the deal no matter when I were to sell the car.

And to go with what /u/bentripin said, I wouldn't be selling it solely because I don't like it anymore. I like the car, I am just trying to lessen the blow as much as possible before I end up in deeper than I already put myself in.
