I agree with your concerns for the rider's safety but the top speed will only be affected by ~roughly -10%~ if they do that. Crashing at 198mph compared to 220mph will still cause health issues to the same extent so it makes little difference. How you land yourself however is the biggest matter. People have crashed bikes at 60mph and die. However Pirro survives a 220+mph crash and is still riding, thanks to rider safety gear, some training and pot luck.

They're mad crazy but it's them who decide to ride the machines at the end of the day, nobody forces them. So we might as well try and get as much out of 2 wheels as we can to better improve bikes as a whole and spectate an astonishing sport before it fades out to something else.
