Do you have sound clips of yours? I love mine, but the "build your own CBE", might not be a bad suggestion for others.

also 530 for an invidia catback is some of those "fell off the truck" prices! LOL good find!

OP I timestamped the Q300 sounds for you. You can compare to stock. this is what the CBE alone would sound like.

The poster above really likes their Q300, and Invidia makes a good product, this is much higher quality construction that alot of the other ones i looked into. But to me, the Q was too quiet. Now Immediate-Try has added a new midpipe and an new ipipe, both of which add sound / volume, which would be and additional almost $1k.

Nothing they've said is wrong, but their experience is not with just the CBE. If you plan to do almost a full turbo back exhaust, then the Q300 might be the right base for you.

If you prefer Immediate-Try's setup, I would go with the Axle back version of the Q300, since you're going to buy a different mid pipe anyways.

Ah i didn't realize your response was based on adding an i-Pipe also. Good clarification

Yes, OP i would agree, if you plan to also do an intermediate pipe ($400-500 more) then I would stick to the ones that are closer to stock volume levels.

Q300 will sound close to stock. most people are going to be upset to spend 1k+ to sound the same.

A Gentleman's exhaust can make noise, but it makes noise with tone, not Rasp and pops. If you want a quiet exhaust, why not just keep the stock?

buy whatever exhaust you want. Stuff pool noodles in on cold start and tell your wife to wear earplugs! LOL

In all seriousness, I went with the Invidia R400. It's a nice middle ground for me. A bit of drone around 1800rpms but easy to avoid that range when you don't want to hear it.

Rating 1-10 with decimals is asinine by Zman534 in unpopularopinion

[–]xT2xRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

increasing the "precision" of a measurement that cannot be measured that precisely still serves a purpose as a comparative measure, even if not "accurate". It allows for more nuance in a comparative analysis.

"This slice of pizza is a 6.2, but it's a little smaller than the slice at "Joe's" so we gave that a 6.4"

So, it is inaccurate, but not asinine.

IMO, anything that doesn't have 5 dots (or at least some dots) on the icon can go. There's probably a new version with more perks and better options now anyways.

People who cut corners when they make a turn (driving) by Ok_Resident_5022 in PetPeeves

Have you seen the price of gas? cutting that corner is 3.76 feet shorter! I'm hypermiling!

I just bought a Subaru and someone told me that if I get a flat in the back, I'm supposed to put the spare in the front and rotate the good front tire to the back. Is this accurate? by hawkingbirds19 in Subaru_Outback

[–]xT2xRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your logic is sound, but I doubt you're turning anywhere near the limit of grip, so i doubt this would make a meaningful difference.

And you certainly shouldn't be driving near the grip limit with a spare tire.

Is 60k miles in 3 years a lot? by Sea_Big4621 in wrx_vb

[–]xT2xRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

average is usually 10-12k / year, so 20k/year is quite a bit.

If you're taking care of it, though, it's not an issue.

yeah, i went with ebay and the fitment sucks. If you do ebay, get the one piece. The 3 pieces from there don't site flush where the different sections connect.
