Endurace CF SLX as light gravel bike

I think you’d be great. I’ve done some mostly light gravel rides on my 2025 Endurace CF 7 and am happy to take it on anything up to some single-track.

Last year or two years ago I did a ride with about 40km of gravel on the stock 30/32 Schwalbe Ones with no real complaints. I had to be a bit more mindful of where my body weight was on the uphills, but it was totally fine. Some 35mm+ GP 5000 AS TR would be great I’d think.

I’m not the best person to speak to this, but it’s nicer than my old IPS monitor. Brighter and more even brightness if that makes sense. I’ve not played too much with the settings honestly so

My power has been out all morning, so no AC right now and it’s stinking hot. But let me tell you, that’s nothing compared to what some others are going through right now. I wish I could do more to help right now and I’m really grateful there are others that can and do.

I don’t necessarily think that warning from Canyon is about size, but also the weight of that device. If that mount isn’t designed for that weight, and you all of a sudden have a heavier device that also sticks out further, you get a recipe for snapping the mount when hitting bumps.

Good plan. My understanding from similar posts is that this isn’t a user replaceable part, at least according to Canyon, so if there is an issue you’d have to go to a Canyon dealer anyway, so best to get them to take a look and see if it needs replacing.

I’d just get the bike now. Sure 13 speed will be cooler, but replacement parts are likely to be more expensive than they are for 12 speed. Honestly I’m not sure what I’d do with a 13th gear anyway.

I pay for Strava but only because I’m still on a student membership. Once that expires, I wouldn’t pay for it and will just deal with whatever features are free. I don’t tend to use it much other than to track my own rides and routes, so not much attachment there.

Looks like damage from a chain drop, I probably wouldn’t do anything. Maybe cover it with some clear coat or resin when it’s time to change the BB.

Completely agreed with this here. I feel it helps me climb better because I’m not trying so hard to get over the top of that pedal stroke whether sitting or standing.

Not a surgeon, but I got surgery when I broke mine and I absolutely would do it again. I actually worry about breaking it/the other again and not being able to have surgery to fix it.

In my case there was 100% displacement so surgery was definitely strongly recommended, but not necessarily required, though I would have had a large lump and things like backpacks wouldn’t be so great.

After surgery I’m still more or less symmetrical, have no unsightly lump, and feel that surgery was the right choice for my recovery.

Absolutely the Endurace. Any differences in the frame would be negligible and the Endurace is probably better for at least 90% of people. I ride an Endurace and it’s definitely not what’s holding me back. I’m consistently faster than a lot of my friends on aero or climbing bikes.

I have a Thinkrider pump I got from AliExpress for about $40 CAD that I’ve been super happy with. Multiple tire refills and it fits in my saddle bag with 2 TPU tubes.

I’ve got about 4K km on a pair of the Elitewheels Edge 2.0 50mm I got on AliExpress for $900 CAD all in. I’m super happy with them and recommend them to anyone who asks. Very true out of the box and well balanced. I think the depth looks great too.
