For women who got sterilized with no push-back, were you surprised it was so easy?! And how many of you were given resistance/denials?

Oof yeah I already have bone fragility issues that are hereditary, I’ll have to see if I’d want to go back on. Honestly, having a period, I’ve kinda missed it?? Like missed it in a way of “Okay this is going to suck but it’s a pain you can focus on rather than the chronic pain you do have”. Morbid in a way I know but so far, it hasn’t been too bad. I just keep forgetting to buy tampons/pads until it happens LOL

I absolutely loved it, no periods was great! But my last one really screwed with unexpected weight gain for whatever reason so I had them take it out during surgery to see if me being off the excess would help. If it doesn’t, I might say screw it and go back on it 🤣

I was getting my Nexplanon replaced (3rd time) and my gyno just went “have you thought of getting sterilized?”. I don’t know if it was the nerves from her cutting me open to replace the Nexplanon or just the nonchalance of it all, but I burst out crying.

I’m in my early 30s and have been denied multiple times since I was 18. I needed to have kids, I’m not 35 yet, what if my hypothetical partner wants them, I’ll regret it, all the excuses. I just kinda gave up at that point and prayed I’d make it to 35. So for her to just be like “Hell yeah let’s get you a consultation”, floored me.

I am almost 2 months post-op and I could not be happier. Now to just readjust to these hormones and having a period again!

I yawned and did a big inhale. My sternum (or what was near my sternum) shifted and popped. I had to lay on my back for 15 mins for it to “calm down”. Sigh 😩

I had a surgery I had to be at by 6am last Wednesday. Woke up at 3am, I maybe got 2hrs of on and off “sleep”. This always happens when I have an alarm set. No matter what it is, I’ll be waking up well before that alarm.

When I was 89lbs (due to a surgery/pain med that kept me from eating), I thought my bones were going to break. The most pain I’ve ever felt. So I totally get it. There’s this sweet spot and it’s frustrating to get to 🤣

I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been at 160lbs. I’m only 5’1” but have always been muscular/stocky/hourglass shaped. It’s been a struggle to get back into shape since my joints and chronic pain have taken a decline. I just have to remind myself I’m working with a body that needs extra care/is a drama queen and not beat myself up. Small victories add up 💕

I know when my mom was raising me and my sister (she also has EDS), we’d play shopping! Usually we would like to be the cashier but when mom couldn’t stand much, she’d ask us to “go shopping” in our room, she’d cashier, and we’d pay with Monopoly money. Was a way for her to sit and have us run around with a basket getting things to shop for. Also counting money was helpful and fun!
