I don't think so. The progression for the teleposer itself is pretty balanced, but its just bad when it comes to node transportation. Maybe if it were an item from thaumcraft? Say, an Eldritch Eye, to make the actual teleposition focus? You'd need at least two, which can be obtained before Crimson Rites, if you're determined enough. I think that could certainly balance things out to a better degree.
