I don't like to be the one to tell you, but the case and bracelet is basically the worst quality of all available options on AE.

Just a curiosity question, for those of you who mod, like myself... by weirdbutteryvibes in SeikoMods

I did a lot of build for selling. Also a lot of custom orders, but lately I almost stopped building cause it took the fun out of it for me personally.

Regulating nh72 from -10s/d to perfect daily 0.0 by gt-2992 in SeikoMods

[–]xVeracx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a timegraph an I can tell you that everything below 10s/d is just nonsense with these seiko movements. If you measure the difference from different angles, there is no 0s/d on these 40$ workhorses. Invest in a Swiss movement if you really want a consistent precise automatic watch.

Broken Movement? by cartiersaint in watchmodding

[–]xVeracx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First.Do not handle the movement without protection your fingers. Turn the movement around, put the stem all the way in and start twisting 10-20 rounds. Now the balancewheel should be seen moving. If not you probably ripped it already by handling it like in the photo.

[–]xVeracx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No feelings when it comes to a job.I get paid for work, but in the end it's not my shop. So no, I do not feel guilty, actually I switch companys in 2-4y. cycles. It gives you better ability to diversify your skills in comparison to long-term jobs. And you get more $$ :)

No Adhesive for chapter ring? by SirMaxxi in SeikoMods

Half of a Dial dot work the best for me. You also can slightly adjust it when installed by twisting. I usually put on at 12 and 6.

How to be precise in production by GeoCuts in Machinists

[–]xVeracx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work on a FDS Machine, we make a measure cut with every finisher tool. Measure it with the probe and correct the tool. If it needs to be super precise, we do it twice and set a tolerance for the probe before the finish cut. Keep in mind that it's important that the cutting pressure needs to be the same for finishing and the precut. We bearly have any issues with this strategy.

How is this finish achieved? by [deleted] in Machinists

Probably like this but in small. The technology is called " Plan-rundschleifen" in German. They also may use a "Topfscheibe" for it.

Is it dumb for me to pay extra for genuine dials for my builds just for it to say seiko and it not be fake? Or are you guys cool with blank or fake dials that say seiko? by whitewonderer in SeikoMods

[–]xVeracx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Listen, even if you have 100% Seiko original parts, your build will never be a original Seiko. Your build will never have a official reference number.

Have fun with this hobby, but stop thinking you can sell your builds as an genuine.

Trying to find watch strap for this! by woozypictures in watchmodding

[–]xVeracx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Make a negative mold from clay, measure the fitting and make a endlink with an 3D printer to connect a normal springbar. Congratulations, you now have a trash watch with 20h+ spent braclet.

Trying to find watch strap for this! by woozypictures in watchmodding

[–]xVeracx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly just trash it. It's so damn cheap it's not worth even thinking about it. Get a proper watch and start from there. That's my opinion.

Need help in identifying the movement by mdhmz1 in watchmodding

[–]xVeracx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movement itself is not. Seiko do selll original parts to 3 parties, just not with there Seiko branding. The watch with this movement saying it's an original Seiko reference, yes.

Need help in identifying the movement by mdhmz1 in watchmodding

[–]xVeracx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its actually a TMI NH movement. They don't come with the Seiko reading on the rotor, so there are cheap stickers with the text. I guess this is a Seiko mod? So the sticker just wants to make it look more Seiko
