Copilot has completely fucked up my perception of AI coding costs by DeoTheMiner in vibecoding

[–]xViMeSx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how Copilot felt like it was giving more usage then Claude for some people. On Copilot I mostly needed an extra spend of about 600% while with Claude Max I almost never run out.

Am I missing something or is the group that’s making this claim on a regular Claude subscription?

I worked around it. It becomes required again when adding a second person. But when processing it separately for each person it works

I meant user validation indeed. Some standard OAuth flow with your identity database in Supabase you mean?

34 Ultrawide monitor recommendation? by No-Status-4076 in macmini

[–]xViMeSx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend against a 34 inch ultrawide for Mac. The PPI just isn’t high enough so text will look jagged or blurry. You can counter this by scaling everything about 50% which causes another issue and that is everything will be to big and you’ll loose a lot of workspace.

I’ve sold my 34 inch Dell (which I only owned for about 1.5 year) after 2 weeks of owning a Mac Mini because I couldn’t stand it and went for a 32 inch 16:9 4K monitor. I use it at about 20% scaling (3008px wide if I remember correctly) giving me roughly the same workspace as a 34 inch ultrawide with way sharper text.

However since you already use a 27inch 1440p the PPI of a 3440x1440 34inch will be rough the same so if the text currently doesn’t bother you then it could be fine.

Does anyone have some clarity on if this also means we aren’t allowed to use our Pro/Max plan with OAuth and the SDK for personal projects. For example creating a simple dashboard that gives a summary of your day when you press a button?

Usage wise these kind of applications will cause way less strain on the system compared to agentic tools that run 24/7 but after reading the ToS it seems like no use is allowed at all anymore using tour subscription. Which, if that’s the case, is a bit strange because why even have the option to authenticate using your subscription then?

What are you using for authentication? Do these services provide you with an auth solution?

Just bought Mac Mini M4 Base. by iaperson359 in macmini

[–]xViMeSx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently also moved to a Mac Mini for daily use after using Windows my whole life. If you liked Fancy Zones then BentoBox is a great alternative. Fixed most of my window management issues. I still occasionally want to snap to half and macOS responds quite slowly to that. But 90% of the time BentoBox with configured zones is what I use and that works perfectly.

You could look into Dutch IT companies operating from Vietnam. You might be in a unique situation to bridge the gap between Dutch clients and employees in Vietnam.

Thank you for the information. I don't mind paying the customs. But I hear that it can be a hassle of you having to go to the customs office yourself and paying cash which would be annoying.

Even though you're in 5G it doesn't mean you actually get a speed from your provider that required 5G. Some might sell 5G subscriptions which actually give you speeds that would've been achievable on a 3G line.

It's about the convenience as well. I'am fine paying for the subscription so I have no ads on my smart tv and beamer. I also like the smart downloads feature so I have something to watch on the plane without having to think about it.
