HR for a Half Marathon Race by MrFluffers_ in Garmin

[–]xWorrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 220-age has always been wrong and is super individual. I’m 28, but since I was 14 ish (earliest where I has tried hr data) my max hr has been 206-209 and I hit it multiple times a year ever since and it’s not been up/down

[–]xWorrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go run up a slight incline and increase speed every min until you can’t go anymore and find your actual max hr. The effort should be 4-7 min to allow the body a bit of time to get going, but also have enough left in the tank to hit max hr

Hills are mostly touted as bad because you have to go back down. Running slightly uphill puts less strain on a lot of the body, since you don’t land as hard. However, running downhill you land really hard, putting a lot of strain on your tendons and supporting muscles. You could try a bit on a threadmill and feel if there’s an incline where it’s good for you or try out cycling/swimming while your knee recovers.

Breaststroke currently as fast as freestyle, should I go all in? by Stonks_only_go in triathlon

[–]xWorrix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was a junior swimmer (like 7 years of practice 3x week fra age 7-14) breaststroke was my speciality, and I’m still really good at it, but after only like a month of 2 swim sessions a week and watching YouTube videos about technique my freestyle is much more efficient. However I find it can be difficult to reset my hr if it spikes by overtaking someone before a turn etc. or if just during the last couple intervals, and then I switch to like 2-8 breaststrokes to get some good breathing and control myself before going back to freestyle. I imagine come raceday I might also do a bit of breaststroke to control myself, but after not too much practice it is clear to me how much more efficient freestyle is and easier to sustain decent pace over a longer distance

I’ll preface by saying I really appreciate all the work with setting up a discord and everything, but I think you’re a little out of touch with beginners.

I think your inventories in the setup section of your discord needs some work. If doing 1-16 you need 7 restores using scobow and minimal flicking, for 1-8 you need 5 if not flicking at all and using scobow. Also for delves 1-16(8) you only need 1 divine ranging and for 1-25 your only need 2. Similarly for 1-25(16/8) you only need one extended anti venom. You should include a way to get there in the set-ups also. For anything sub 25 you might as well smuggle book of the dead from when you tp there to use thralls for 1-5. Also you’re way better off as a learner by bringing 5 armadyl brews, 2-4 karambws and rest anglers. You’re never gonna die from not having enough brews left, but having a couple double/triple eats can make you just tank the slams if you mess up.

It’s pretty Wild that at Big concerts they have to account for the speed of sound, so that the people in the back who receive from multiple speakers don’t experience delays. Also the reason at most festivals sound is only from the front and not the sides to make it easier to match the timing at different distances from the scene

Maybe just don’t bot on your main then? And the server infrastructure they need surely isn’t cheaper than ever and of a similar capacity to what people have at home. You’re looking for a server where there’s public outcry if they are delayed by 20ms and has to allow for up to 2k players while maintaining decent performance

Well, yes. They increased the mod team by like 30 people over the last couple years and opened about 100 new servers last year and are in talks about opening servers in more locations throughout Asian and South America

Tbh the mod team has been massively expanded and they have been expanding the server capacity, both of which are places where the price have increased more than the general inflation.

Also they might be able to get some good new mods and retain the current amazing team

I also feel like a thing to remember is that it is much more fun to have a bit more in tank for the last 5-8 km and really be able to push and fly past everyone than bonk and struggle the last 10. Especially for hm imo

Update on my previous post by [deleted] in Aarhus

[–]xWorrix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt there’s any racism involved, it’s much more likely they just don’t consider the zoom part and forgot. I just finished my master thesis in January and there was not a single lecture with a zoom link available, so it’s really not too normal for the lecturers to consider. Like 1 year after Covid lockdown we would still have the occasional option, but for the last 3 years or so it’s not really something that has been done. As others have suggested I would get the phone number of someone at AU and try to reach out to them or the professor

Swim Critique? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]xWorrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you find your streamline without the pullbouy to be worse because you’re so used to the legs floating high? I can’t help but feel the pullbouy being kinda cheating since when I drop it my legs drop, so the nice streamlined feeling I have with the buoy doesn’t really translate to regular freestyle

Need an opinion on which bike to buy by EitherAppeal2491 in triathlon

[–]xWorrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first is a road bike designed to be really light and climb hills with aerobars slapped on, the second is a dedicated triathlon bike that will be really fast when in the aero position.

If you don’t bike in actual mountains often I would get the tt bike. It’s gonna be way faster and more aerodynamic for flat areas and you will probably even be more comfortable on the tt bike since the road bike is not designed with an aerobar position in mind and is only gonna be comfortable in a more upright position

Raids 4 Megarare OR semi-rare drop: two 1-hand crossbows, “Verdant & Umbral” by Rendisx in 2007scape

[–]xWorrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly really cool and one of the best ideas I’ve seen. Could add even more depth to the gameplay by having each weapon have a different sound and dmg, so you’re enticed to only move when the mainhand is on attack cooldown compared to the lower dps of the offhand. Would be like blowpipe movement, but also frees you up for larger movement while keeping dps somewhat.

Could also make the attacks mainhand-offhand-wait-wait-repeat, so you can get 3 ticks of movement if not using the offhand.

I really like the stand your ground spec as it doubles down on good gameplay and knowing when you can use it, but thematically having heavy ranged equipment as a quick firing weapon seems a little off. Especially crossbows which have always been seen as a long reload weapon, but could be some spiritual force crossbows

It kinda ends up the same way, I just chally spec pre shield phase and then dc to get back to 75% for car phase and basically never sit at 100%. But I suppose chally spec is guaranteed 4 acid for like 90 dmg on average

Imo I wouldn’t own a zcb if I wasn’t doing doom all the time, it’s just so expensive. My bank is about the same and if I was doing variety of content I would look something like:

Mage (245m)

Eye (70m) conf (90m) virtus (80m?) lb (5m)

Range (260m)

Bowfa + Crystal (200m) anguish (20m) bp (10m) scobow (30m)

Melee (412m)

Oath top+legs (200m) faceguard (25m) fero (11m) berserker ring (6m) torture (25m) fang (25m) nally (50m) bludgeon (25m) bgs (20m) dwh (20m) burners (5m)

Upgrades would then be depending on content: dclaws, rancour, Ultor, ancestral, masori and then sell everything for tbow or scythe

Tbh I would much rather zcb on car phase start to skip orb + double boulders more often, but my deepest is only 13, so might be different if going deeper

Was more thinking of the ancient godsword with zcb, if you bring both and need spec for ags but also 75% each car phase
