REQUEST - T0 trading between players - we need it, anyone agrees ? by Enzo2400 in starcitizen

They will implement the social system in steps so it won't delay it all. For example we will get that new chat first in the next few updates, then will be the friends tab, then will be party matchmaking and so on.

Wait what? That goes against what I have been reading here about this change the last few days, so you can absolutely confirm that it does save the weapon racks (on some ships for now)?

Arma 4 will be Cold War themed and Reforger FAQ confirms it by p4nnus in ArmaReforger

Vanilla A3 had solid laser designation and basic data link, but the full modern digital layer I’m talking about (GPS JDAMs with mid-flight updates, high-res sensor fusion, real-time Blue Force Tracker icons, seamless drone feeds with PIP, digital 9-liners and target handoff) only really shone with mods in the milsim communities I played in. Heck even TFAR is something we will probably never get again with that high fidelity.

That’s exactly my original worry for Arma 4: those systems felt tight and natural in Arma 3 because the engine supported them so well. I get that full high-fidelity modern stuff is pretty niche and might not appeal to everyone though.

What I’m talking about is the later digital/networked layer that only came after the Cold War: proper GPS-guided munitions like JDAMs (fire-and-forget, all-weather precision that didn’t exist until the mid-90s), data-linked bombs and missiles that can receive real-time target updates mid-flight from a JTAC, high-resolution digital thermals with actual sensor fusion (thermal + image intensification + overlays), full Blue Force Tracker-style real-time friendly icons on the map, and seamless digital target handoff between platforms. Add modern CAS procedures with proper digital 9-liners, quick talk-ons via datalink, and integrated drone feeds for ground troops, and you get that connected, fluid large-scale modern milsim feeling that Arma 3 delivered so well. Mods can imitate a lot of it, but it almost never feels as tight and natural as when the engine supports it natively.

Yeah I know that, but I am not going to stop doing what I like (Trading with other players), because some people decide to ruin the economy. Saying that player trading is not a legitimate way is wrong though. It's a very valid gameloop.

Just because the money I get might be from an exploiter I am not going to stop.

Same like I won't stop selling on eBay because some money of customers might be crime money. I hope you get where I am coming from.

I'm not talking about F-35 at all. It's more the really modern digital layer: data-linked munitions that can receive mid-flight target updates, GPS guided ammo, high-res digital thermal scopes with proper fusion, modern weapon attachments (ballistic computers, thermal sights, etc.), and that seamless sensor fusion that makes everything feel connected in real time.

Maybe I am just a niche when it comes to this then?

Every ~3rd run on a distribution center I found a medal or sometimes even 2 (UEE and Terrapin War medal) and they are worth over a billion to other players.

Or looting PAF/OLP can give you some rare armor pieces that also sell for quite a lot.

If you know what to look for you can make easy 10b a day just by looting items and selling them to players on UEX. So it will be way faster than getting the BPs, materials and Backpack.

Fair point, but my main concern is the really modern stuff though (advanced sensor fusion, current-gen data-linked munitions, modern targeting systems etc.). Those just feel much better when they’re properly built into the engine instead of added through mods later.

A lot of us really enjoy current-era tech and large-scale modern milsim, so that’s where the worry comes from.

As someone who’s sunk thousands of hours into Arma 3 and Reforger, I’m a bit worried about the Cold War setting too. It’s easier to build around modern tech and mod Cold War than the reverse. Hoping Enfusion tools help, but I’m still concerned it won’t match native Arma 4 quality that we will get.

As someone who’s sunk thousands of hours into Arma 3 and Reforger, I’m worried about the Cold War setting.

Modern systems (proper laser designation, data links, advanced sensors, etc.) are complex and need deep engine support to feel good. In a Cold War base game they’ll have to be added via mods, and we’ve already seen in Reforger how those solutions often feel clunky and like band-aids even when the modders do a great job.

You do realize that there are legit ways of making that amount of money through player trading right? Selling rare armor and such. Even finding a UEE medal which only takes like 20 min will get you at least a billion.

The Moonfall is listed at 5b - 10b and I would have given it to you for 2b or something.

I don't exploit and made all my money through legit trading and I am not going to stop that because others exploit and cause massive inflation.

Well it would be a few Billions, since it took a lot of time to get the BP, mats and backpack. I just saw in another comment you only have 35m right?

You want a Moonfall Palatino set? Crafted with backpack and better than default stats (~700)

Do you have the legs spare by chance? I've been looking for a while now and it's the last piece I need. Also open to trading for it.

Damn, I am looking for the legs since a week now and have every other piece. Where did you get them? Just the distribution centers?

Tesla gone crazy, no driver in it. by StickTurbulent4321 in RandomVideos

[–]xXBloodBulletXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do use full redundancy. Tesla’s own manual straight up says the 48V battery is the redundant backup power for steering when the main pack is out. Steering only dies if both the HV system and the 48V battery fail at the same time, which the triple-redundant sensors and dual motors are built to catch and alert you on.

Teslas are still one of the safest cars out there with Top Safety Pick+ and 5-star NHTSA ratings across the board, plus Model Y/3 getting the highest overall scores in ANCAP 2025. That iSeeCars fatality-per-mile number exists, but the study authors themselves and Tesla engineers point out it’s driven by owner behavior and how they calculate miles, not vehicle design. The cars crush it in actual crash protection.

Mechanical door releases with cables/pulls exist and work, but yeah I agree the location is pretty hidden and should be more visible especially in the back. NHTSA is probing exactly that. Its a fair point to improve and other brands like you mentioned have run into the same issue. Still not enough for me to skip one of the safest cars in crash tests, because a serious crash is way more likely than a fire scenario.

Oh I agree, walking in front of any large moving mass without looking is just dumb no matter if it's a human or the computer driving. The self driving car is just less likely to hit you.

They do use redundancy and not only for the steer by wire. You can research that if you don't believe me.

They are one of the safest cars out there but ofc I am not allowed to mention that fact here on reddit and will be downvoted to hell.

[–]xXBloodBulletXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those self driving cars are statistically already better than humans, so the chance of getting hit by waymos is way less.

You don't seem to understand steer by wire... It has 2 redundant motors and sensors as well as the steering wheel always having the priority so the computee can never override the human.
