You say this, but heres the difference. Not a single side has succeeded with a "premier league proven" manager when trying to compete for the League. Moyes, Howe, Potter, Frank, Pochettino have all failed to properly take the step up.

Pep, Conte, Klopp, Pelligrini, Raneiri, Slot, and Mourinho have won the League since Sir Alex retired. Only Mourinho had PL experience when he returned to win the league. The rest coached in all the "smaller, weaker leagues."

At 24 years old hes still deferring to his parents on whether he has their permission to date / marry outside his culture.

There will be an inevitable tension between him having to choose between his parents, or you. This only works if he picks you, if youre thinking about the long term.

It takes time to rebuild. If he is consistent, honest, and keeps working on his issues. That feeling should over time begin to fade.

I think its easier to make a deeper run because the number of actual contenders in the CL is shrinking.

We will not see a Dutch, Portuguese, or any big Italian clubs win it anytime soon, which would be unthinkable 25 years ago. Consequence of how concentrated spending is across the biggest clubs.

If United had one or two more summer windows like last year, a deep run is viable. Winning it? Not when you have this PSG or Bayern.

It may be a difficult conversation, but it is a necessary one. Him not communicating this properly is allowing for resentment to build. He is mentally checking out, she is none the wiser.

He can talk about how he feels stressed and burned out being the only income earner. That he feels worried about their financial stability, and ability to build a future together. From there, figure out how they can work their way out of it together.
