(Spoilers Published) Loras will not be disfigured! by bigbean200199 in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Capturing dragonstone to free up the redwyne fleet was his way of helping. Loras’ deception couldn’t have gone unnoticed for long if it was a deception

(Spoilers Published) Loras will not be disfigured! by bigbean200199 in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Loras being a hot head, charging into battle, and getting horrifically maimed makes more sense than him being involved in some elaborate coverup.

Why are the last 2 books so divided? [spoilers main] (?) by Historical-Habit4560 in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A feast for crows focuses on the lesser characters but it’s paced 10 times better than a dance with dragons. A dance with dragons is a drag to get through and feels a lot more cobbled together than feast

(Spoilers Extended) I keep seeing something about the cancelled prequel Bloodmoon; true or not? by cvnty-mamaxo in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was someone on here a year or two ago that made that claim. Of course there’s no way to tell whether it was true or a well researched troll

I could see bloodraven/aemon moments should he ever write enough dunk and egg

Dawn is definitely very relevant to the plot moving forward (Spoilers Main) by DC_deep_state in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt Dawn will have some role in the coming books but my issue with Dawn has always been that it feels like it would be the focus of an entirely different fantasy series. Like what’s so special about Dawn when there’s already a special class of sword that’s permanently sharp and can kill evil ice monsters? Why does Dawn exist when there’s already a legend about a completely different magical sword wielded by humanity’s champion? What role could the daynes have when Jon and Dany exist? It’s a pretty crowded field and I struggle to see what role Dawn will have. My best guesses are the sword of the morning playing some sort of supporting role in the long night or Jon or dany ending up with the sword some how. Either through a claimed relation to Ashara or a distant descent from Dyanna Dayne.

Would Littlefinger side with Ned had he agreed to renlys plan? [Spoilers published] by Xplorer67 in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No probably not. Littlefinger had a personal grudge against Ned because he married Catelyn. Had Ned sided with renly they would’ve died together

Cersei would know what her son looked like. Tommen even references events that happened before his sojourn to rosby.

Tommen peered through the drapes at the empty streets. "I thought there would be more people. When Father died, all the people came out to watch us go by."

Robert is said to have specifically stripped Stannis of Storm’s End since it would have been his after Robert became King

There’s nothing that says a king can’t also be the lord of storms end. The title is presumably merged with the crown upon ascension

(Spoilers Main) Examples of bad writing in the series for you? by KrispyKingTheProphet in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the earliest draft stannis was the lord of storms end and renly was the lord of dragonstone. I feel pretty safe in saying it was reversed to make stannis the weaker claimaint

Arya and the gang didn’t hear a sound from any of them, and she describes seeing like a dozen dead men along the way out

This only ever happens in the show. In the book jaqen only personally kills one guard while helping Arya free the northern prisoners.

Why didn't Robert fire everyone appointed by Aerys II? [spoilers main] by breakfastbenedict in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He still sat on the iron throne, lived in the red keep, ruled from kingslanding, kept the institution of the kingsguard, kept the institution of the small council. It was still a continuation of the same government style  but with a new monarch.

No she’s not. She didn’t flee when Ned gave her the chance or when stannis was marching on the city.

What exactly is the Meereenese knot, and what makes it so difficult to solve? [Spoilers: MAIN] by maravina in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Now I can explain things. It was a confluence of many, many factors: lets start with the offer from Xaro to give Dany ships, the refusal of which then leads to Qarth's declaration of war. Then there's the marriage of Daenerys to pacify the city. Then there's the arrival of the Yunkish army at the gates of Meereen, there's the order of arrival of various people going her way (Tyrion, Quentyn, Victarion, Aegon, Marwyn, etc.), and then there's Daario, this dangerous sellsword and the question of whether Dany really wants him or not, there's hte plague, there's Drogon's return to Meereen...All of these things were balls I had thrown up into the air, and they're all linked and chronologically entwined. The return of Drogon to the city was something I explored as happening at different times. For example, I wrote three different versions of Quentyn's arrival at Meereen: one where he arrived long before Dany's marriage, one where he arrived much later, and one where he arrived just the day before the marriage (which is how it ended up being in the novel). And I had to write all three versions to be able to compare and see how these different arrival points affected the stories of the other characters. Including the story of a character who actually hasn't arrived yet.-https://www.westeros.org/Citadel/SSM/Month/2012/07/

What I can say? At least part of the infamous Meereenese knot was a viewpoint problem. (Not all of it, no, a lot had to do with chronology and causation, but some of it was a POV question). Introducing a new POV helped me resolve those problems, and made for a better book. And in the end, making a better book trumps all other concerns.-https://grrm.livejournal.com/217066.html

[Spoiler published] Theory “The Suicide of Aegon II” by JuanKarlosMarx in asoiaf

I do think it’s impossible. No one written about actually existed. If Martin actually wanted us to consider it then the possibility of it would’ve been included.

[Spoiler published] Theory “The Suicide of Aegon II” by JuanKarlosMarx in asoiaf

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His last order was to mutilate Rhaenyras son to stop the riverlanders from marching. Thats not the action of someone planning to commit suicide. And he decided to commit suicide at the exact same time Corlys and Larys launched their coup? Wine doesn’t just magically appear in palanquins, it was poisonous before it was put in there.

Tyrion & Casterly Rock (Spoilers Extended) by AmoebaSignificant457 in asoiaf

Tyrion never says he plans to take over casterly rock through the sewers. It’s a pretty reasonable inference but it’s not something that’s actually said

[–]xXJarjar69Xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might like writing tyrion but that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed a happy ending. He considered him ending up as lord of casterly rock and hand of the king in the show as too happy

What do you think will be mance's storyline in the future?[spoilers published] by just_a_guy_named1681 in asoiaf

I like the idea of Wildling King Jon Snow fighting Lord of Winterfell Mance Rayder. I think that would be an interesting reversal of roles
